Its been a complete month and Tarryn and Ephraim weren't speaking after what happened that night. Nonetheless, in that time Ephraim apologizes for what he said because he knew that he took it too far. But Tarryn is still ignoring him, not speaking to him and continues to give him the cold shoulder. He did everything he could to make sure he gets his point across.

Every day in the month he sent flowers to Tarryn's office, drop small but expensive gifts inside of her purse because he knows she's going to see it, and send her random pictures to her of when they were together and happy. He even sent her his vows and all she did was leave him on read. He tried and he tried until he couldn't try no more. As of now, he was completely drained and shutdown. His attitude was getting bad, his face was unapproachable and he would have random outbursts.

He just couldn't understand how one mistake that he did in his 20's just fuck up everything that he had with Tarryn. He get that she could be upset for a little while but a month? On top of shitty attitude, constant reminders and avoidance? One mistake, a huge mistake, could do all that. Tarryn on the other hand was just annoyed with it all. She missed him and seeing him try harder to win her over was the sweetest thing.

She missed everything about Ephraim. The way he cuddled with her, cradled her and made her feel safe and secure. She wanted to apologize to Ephraim but she doesn't know how. She gave herself an evaluation and realized that she went a tad overboard, but that doesn't vote out her actual feelings. She still feel a type of way about the information that she received but she realize that she had to understand Ephraim's side. But of course, there's a thing called pride.

Ephraim headed back to his office with a obvious scowl on his face as the news he just received pissed him off. They were discussing a bill that was changing the vote to an earlier date as early as 45 days early, but of course, his white constituents didn't want it early but rather the same day and then crack a joke about disability 'if they are fast enough' to get there early. Because apparently, according to Senator Timothy Braille, the darker complexed people are never on time for anything, even if they could help it. This made Ephraim's skin boil which caused him to stand up and leave the room.

He walked into his office and his assistant Susan stood up. "Senator Lockett, good afternoon." She greets him.

"Anything new for me today?" He asks her as she looks through her touchscreen desktop. She scrolled through the emails and seen a name that she didn't recognize. "Um, yes a Kiora Drew is requesting your presence at a certain time and place. How should I respond?" She asked nicely. Ephraim thought back on when he DM'd Kiora that night him and Tarryn were arguing. He wanted to get into contact with her just so he could speak with her. He finally wants to hear her side and have some sort of understanding since he leaned on his own.

"I'll take it from here, Su. Anything else before I go back into my cocoon?" He asks with his hand on his office doorknob.

"You received your invitation to the Black Caucus and they would like you to speak in the panel and also you received your invitation to the budget fundraiser that is two weeks from today," Susan takes a breath and Ephraim chuckles. "And lastly, you have marriage counseling today at 5 o'clock." She concluded and she sat down.

"Thanks Susan." With that he walked into his office and closed the door but didn't lock it. While Susan sat down she just remembered one important thing she left out and pressed her intercom button that was a direct line into his office. "Sir, I almost forgot. I'll be sending you the budget cuts in shortly." She said and he shouted thanks to Susan.
