Chapter 28

Nick POV

I kept driving until I reached a small park. I decided to grab my guitar and go sit down on a bench and play for a while. I go find a quiet place in the park and sit down on the bench in view of a playground. I begin playing when I see a little girl run by with wavy brown hair. I watch her for awhile while I quietly play my guitar and start to think about Aubree and how I didn't say anything to her and how I watched her watch me drive away. I keep playing and think about Demi and how much we've been through together and how much I love her deeply. I decide to go back to the house cause I miss Demi and I wanna win her heart over no matter what it takes I will make her fall in love with me even more.

Demi POV:

Its been a few hours since Nick left and I feel like we broke up when only it was a big fight. I miss him like crazy and Aubree hasn't calmed down much. I hold her close to me trying to sooth her and calm her down. She finally calms down and falls asleep in my arms. I hear a car pull into the drive way and cross my fingers its Nick. I carefully lay my daughter on the couch and get up to look out the window to see who is here. The front door opens and Nick walks in. I look at him with sad eyes as he walks over to me. "Hi." I say quietly. "Hi. I'm sorry I walked out." He says rubbing the back of his neck with his hand. "Its okay. I get it you were upset." I say looking at him. He walks over and grabs my hand and pulls me into a hug. I sob into his chest and he rubs my back. "Shhh baby I've got you. I'm sorry. I'm not leaving I promise Dems." He says hugging me tight. I nod and just stay in his embrace. I watch him look over at Aubree who's still asleep with her thumb in her mouth. "She watched you drive away." I say looking up at him. He looks down at me with sad eyes. "She kept crying for you wanting you to come back. When you pulled in is when she fell asleep from crying." I say trying not feel like I am making him feel guilty for leaving. "Demi I love you and I love Aubree and I am going to keep fighting for you no matter how you feel about Wilmer or any other guy. You two are my girls and I am not going to let Wilmer come in between us Dems." He says right before he kisses me passionately. I kiss him back and wrap my arms around his neck. "I love you Nick. And I know that sleeping beauty over there loves you too." I say smiling as he looks over at her. "You should go snuggle her. She really thought you left her for good." I say smiling at him. He nods his head and lets go of me. I watch Nick walk over to Aubree and pick her up. Her little eye lids flutter open and a big smile appears on her face. "Daddy!" She shouts and throws her arms around his neck. "Hi princess. I'm sorry I left." She says kissing her head. She smiles big "Don't ever leave again daddy." She tells him as she still hugs his neck. "Never princess. I'll always be here with you and mommy." He reassures her. I watch her snuggle into him like she does with me at bed time and I know at this very moment that I am in love with Nick Jonas for sure.
