My Love Is Like a Star

Chapter 9

        I woke up around 9 am to a little girl bouncing on my bed. "Mommy! Mommy! Mommy wake up!" She said loudly. "Aubree whats wrong?" I said as I tried to wake myself up. "I hungry mommy." She said trying to pull me out of my bed. I giggled when she pulled so hard she lost her grip and fell on to her butt on my bed. She stood right back up determined to get me out of my bed to cook her breakfast. It didn't hit me until I was fully awake that Nick was coming over at noon today. I jumped out of my bed and ran into the bathroom. "Mommy what wrong?" Aubree asked as she watched me do my hair and make up. "Nick is coming over in 3 hours and I have to get ready and we have to pick up the house." I told her as I was putting mascara on. "But mama I hungry." She said again. "Okay baby girl I will fix you breakfast right after I finish my hair." I told her. I picked her up and set her on the counter next to me. She watched me intently while I worked on my hair. I finished up and unplugged the curling iron and grabbed Aubree off the counter and headed down stairs. I put her down at the table and went into the kitchen. I fixed her a blueberry muffin, some yogurt and a banana.

        After I handed her the plate of food I began picking up the living room. It was full of toys that didn't belong out her. "Aubree when you're finished with breakfast you need to pick up your toys out here please and put them in your room where they go." I told her. She looked at me and nodded her head. I cleaned the kitchen and then I picked up  the dinning room. Aubree finished her breakfast and picked up her toys that were in the living room. Just as she walked  up stairs to put the last of her toys away the doorbell rang. I walked over to the door and opened it. "Hey Nick." I said with a smile on my face. He walked inside. "Aubree! Come say hi to Nick!" I called up the stairs. She came down the stairs part way and waved to him then she ran back up stairs to  her room. I walked with Nick into the music room. We practiced Catch Me first. 

        After we rehearsed a little we talked for what felt like forever. It felt like we hadn’t been apart that long. Even though we had just talked yesterday we hadn't had deep conversations in a long time.  After we finished talking about anything and everything we began rehearsing Here We Go Again. This was my favorite because he slowed it down for me and made it sound amazing.  We finished up and it was way past Aubree's lunch time. I quickly ordered Pizza and Chicken wings for all of us. I heard a little knock on the door. "Mommy?" I opened the door. "Whats wrong princess?" I said scooping her up. She rubbed her tummy, "I hungry." She said shyly. I laughed and looked over at Nick who was smiling. "Pizza and chicken are on the way beautiful." I  said with a smile. "YAY PIZZZA!" She said almost screaming in my ear. She got down and ran into the living room. I turned on Disney Junior so she could watch Sofia. Nick and I sat on the couch. And talked some more until we were inturputed by a knock at the door. Nick stood up. "I'll get it Demi." He said with a smile.  He walked over and opened the door and paid the pizza guy.  "Aubree Pizza is her my love." I turned off the tv and she skipped over to the dinning room table. 

        Nick bent down to her level, "Want one or two slices of pizza Aubree?" "One please." She said politely. I smiled at her for being a big girl and answering Nick. Before we could sit down my phone went off. "You two eat lunch I'll be right back." I said with a smile. I walked over to the living room and looked down at my phone. It was Wilmer. Great. I decided to pick up the phone. 

"What do you want Wilmer?"

"I want you to take me back please." He begged.

"No, you really screwed up this time. Plus I have other responsibilities at the moment."

"Demi please just listen to me."

"You've got one minute. I have a guest over and I have to tend to Aubree and make sure she eats."

"Okay, okay I'm really sorry. She ment nothing to me. She-." I hung up the phone.

        I didn't want to hear it. He tried calling me back but I ignored it. I turned off my cell phone and  I walked back over to Nick and Aubree who were giggling about something. "Who called?" Nick asked. "We can talk about it later." I said with a smile and then sat down at the table to enjoy lunch with two of my favorite people. "Mommy I done?" I looked over at Aubree's plate she had eaten half of her pizza and a chicken wing. I smiled and nodded. "Yay! I go play?" She asked."Yes but upstairs in your room for 5 minutes and then its nap time princess." She nodded her head and ran up stairs.  Nick and I walked over to the couch and sat down for a bit. "So Demi, you gonna tell me who called?" Nick asked me. "Wilmer did." I said looking at the ground. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Nick tense up. "What did he want?" He asked trying not to sound upset. "He wanted me to take him back. But I told him no. He really messed up Nick like big time. I don't want him near Aubree either." Nick placed his hand on my back rubbing circles. I looked over at him and smiled.
