Chapter 12

       We arrived at the stadium and I had to do sound check in about a half hour. Aubree was still asleep on the couch and Nick was in the back taking a shower. I gently woke up Aubree. "Aubree, honey mommy has to get ready for her concert and I think we should get you dressed." I said to her.  She rubbed the sleep from her eyes and nodded. Before I could get up she grabbed my hand. "Mommy I don't want you to go on stage." She said almost crying. "Remember what we talked about if you were good mommy would let you come out on stage. Maybe you can come out on stage with me during sound check." I told her. She threw her little arms around my neck and wouldn't let go. I wrapped my arms around my little girl. "Baby mommy has to get ready." I said letting go of her. She let go and pouted on the couch. I smiled at her walking into my room. She got off the couch  and ran after me. I felt her grab my hand and we walked into the bedroom together. 

        After I finished getting ready I walked out of the bus with Aubree's little hand in mine. We walked through the back doors and into the backstage area. I walked into my dressing room and Aubree plopped onto the couch with her little bear in her hand. Nick came in right after us. He sat down next to Aubree. I smiled at the two of them. "Guys look over here." I said holding up my phone. Aubree smiled her big smile and Nick put his arm around her. It was the cutest picture I had ever seen. A knock came at the door. It was Natalie. "Demi you need to be out for sound check in 5 minutes." She told me without opening the door. "Okay!" I shouted toward the door. I fixed my hair and put on a hat. Aubree jumped off the couch and ran over to me and hugged my legs. "Baby.." I said picking her up. We walked out the door with Nick right behind us. He walked up next to me. "Bree." I melted when he called her that. "Bree, why don't you stay with me for a bit?" He said as we arrived at the wings of the stage. I stop and put Aubree on the ground and her little arms went up for me to pick her back up. "No baby girl mommy has to go on stage." I said kissing her head. Nick came over and picked her up trying to distract her. 

        I walked out on stage and everyone started cheering. "Hey guys! Welcome to my sound check paaarrrtttyyy!" I said. I smiled and started singing.  After the first song I heard the crowd "Awe". I looked behind me and there was Aubree standing at the back of the stage. I smiled at her knowing that Nick probably gave into putting her down and she took off running toward the stage. I waved her over and she ran to me hugging my legs. I looked down at her and smiled. "Guys, you probably remember my daughter from the pictures I have been posting on Twitter. Well here she is live in person. Aubree can you say hi to everyone?" I picked her up and she did a small wave and rested her head on my shoulder.  My guitarist brought over some ear plugs for her. I put them in her ears and set her on the stage. I sang Made In The USA and she was kinda dancing along to it. I looked over at her she was giggling and having fun with the music. Natalie came  on to the stage. We did some questions from the audience and I teased her for not having a boyfriend as always. I love this girl. After we finished I scooped up Aubree and sat down with her on my lap. I looked at her and gave her a kiss on her cheek. She wrapped her arms around my neck and nuzzled her head on my shoulder. I began to sing believe in me.

   Im losing myself

Trying to compete

With everyone else

        Everyone was clapping and cheering and I noticed that my little girl had fallen asleep on my shoulder. "I'll see you guys in just a few at my meet and greet" I said in a whisper into the mic. I walked back into the wings. "Sorry Demi she squirmed out of my arms and I set her down and she took off to the back of the stage." Nick said apologizing. I smiled at him. "Its okay. Its just hard cause she's never really been away from me. She is literally glued to my hip."  We walked back to my dressing room and I laid Aubree on the couch. "Would you mind watching her while I do meet and greet?" I asked Nick. He smiled up at me. "Anything for you Dems." He said. I walked out of my dressing room and down to meet and greet.
