Chapter 19

The next morning I woke up on the hospital bed next to Aubree.  Nick fell asleep on the other side of her with his arm wrapped around both of us. I loved moments like this, I always feel like I have a little family when this happens.  I gently moved Nick’s arm and placed it over Aubree.  I grabbed my phone and took a picture of my two loves.  As soon as I was done Nick woke up sliding his arm off Aubree and getting off the bed trying not to wake her. He walked over to me and wrapped his arms around my waist. I looked up into his brown eyes and smiled. “Thank you for staying with us last night Nick.” He smiled down at me, “You’re welcome demi. I will always be here no matter what.”  He told me and then leaned down and kissed my lips. We were interrupted by a knock on the door.  It was Dr. Peters, “Well everything seems to be going good. You can take her home today. I am going to prescribe an epee pen for her so in case something like this were to happen again you have something on hand.” He told us.  “Her case isn’t really severe but if she eats peanuts she will end up having an allergic reaction so just be careful and watch what she eats.” I nodded my head. “Thank you Dr Peters.” Nick said.   After Dr. Peters walked out of the room Aubree woke up. “Mama?” She said sleepily I walked over to her and sat down next to her. “Yes baby girl?” “I wanna go home.”  “I know baby girl, you get to home in a little while. We have to wait for the doctor to come back with something and then they can unhook you from this tube.” I said moving her hair away from her eyes and kissing her forehead. 

        About an hour later we were all packed up and ready to head out of the hospital. I carried my blonde haired brown eyed out to my car with Nick by our side just as the paparazzi showed up.  I set Aubree in her car seat and Nick leaned in and kissed her head and told her he’d see her in a few. I didn’t care if the paparazzi saw him hug me and kiss my cheek or not so he did it anyway. “See you at your house babe.” He said in a whisper. “Okay.” I said with a smile. He jogged off to his car and I climbed into the driver’s seat and took off to our house.  “Mama.” My little girl said from the back seat. “Yes baby?” “I hungry. Can we has something yummy?” I laughed. “Sure baby want In-N-Out or McD’s?” I looked through the rearview mirror and saw her thinking.  “McD’s pwease.” She said with a smile on her face.  We grabbed McDonald’s and then went home.  When we pulled up Nick’s car was in the drive way. He got out of his car and helped Aubree out of her carseat. I got out and Nick ran around to the other side with Aubree on his hip. I looked up at him and he looked down at me. I stood on my tiptoes and he leaned down and kissed my lips. I smiled up at him. “Ew.” I heard Aubree say in a whisper. Nick and I both laughed. I turned around and he grabbed my hand and we walked into my house.  Nick sat Aubree down at the dining room table while I fixed her McD’s on a plate for her to eat.  I was happy to have my little girl home and that she was healthy again. “Here you go baby eat up and then we’ll watch a movie.” I said to her as I kissed the top of her head. I sat down on Nick’s lap and he put his arms around my waist.
