Chapter 36

Demi POV:
Nick and I decide to stay at the hotel today. I can't stop thinking about my little girl while laying next to him. I wonder if she's okay? I hope she's okay I miss her like crazy. As Nick and I are cuddling on the bed and watch the ID Channel my phone begins to vibrate. I check the caller id and see it's my mom.

Maddie POV:
I woke up and went to check on Aubree. I walked to the guest room where she is sleeping and quietly opened the door. I peaked inside and saw that her bed was empty and I noticed that the bathroom door was shut and the light was on. I walked over and knocked on the door, "Aubree?" I said knocking. There was no answer but soft sobbing. "Sweetie its Auntie Maddie can you open the door please so I can help?" "No you can't help me!" She shouted through her crying. "Sweetie I can try and help. Please unlock the door." I said reaching for the door knob. "I want my mommy." Aubree said sobbing. "Okay sweetie come out and we can call her." I tell her through the door. "No only my mommy can come in and get me." She tells me. I sigh. "I'll be right back Bree." I say walking away from the door and out of the room and into my mom's room. "Mom?" I say opening the door to her room. "What's wrong Maddie?" She asks me. "Well Aubree kind of locked herself in the bathroom and she won't come out. She said that Demi is the only person she wants." I say sitting on the edge of her bed. "Maybe we should call Demi and have her come back. Even though I really don't want her to but I think its what's best for Aubree." My mom tells me. I nod my head and hand her her phone.

Demi POV:
"Hey mom is everything okay?" I say answering my phone. "Well we have a bit of a situation. Aubree has locked herself in the bathroom and she won't come out. She told Maddie that you're the only one she wants. I know that you don't want to do this but I think it might be best if you and Nick came home." She tells me. I sigh. "Okay mom. We will book the next flight out to LA." I tell her. "Is there any way I can talk to her? I can try to persuade her to come out just until I get home." I tell her. "Sure let me see if I can get her to open the door." She tells me. I look over at Nick while I wait for her to try and get Bree on to the phone. What's wrong he mouths to me. "Aubree." I whisper to him. He nods his head as I hear the phone being shuffled around. "Mommy?" my little girl's voice says. "Hey baby girl. Daddy and I are going to come home okay? But i need you to do something for me." I tell her. "What?" She asks quietly. "I need you to stay out of the bathroom and stay with Maddie or stay in your room but you have to keep the door unlocked. Okay?" I ask her. She doesn't say anything. "Aubree baby I'm going to be home very soon so you need to do that for me okay?" I ask her and then hear her sigh. "Otay mommy." She says quietly. I smile slightly. "Thank you baby girl. I promise I'll be home very soon. I love you so much." I tell her. "I wove you too mommy." She says to me. As I hang up the phone I see Nick looking on his phone. "Hey babe what are you doing?" I ask sitting down next to him. "I'm looking for the next flight out." He tells me. "The only one left is tonight at like 11 PM and that's a 5 hour flight back to LA." He says with a sigh. "Let me make some calls babe and maybe I can get the private jet out here soon." I tell him sending a quick text to Max to see if he can send it out.

*5 Hours Later*

Nick and I finally land in LA and climb as fast as we can into a car to make it to my mom's house. As we are driving I am thinking about Aubree and if she is okay and how I already want to be there to hold her an comfort her. As soon as we pull up to the house I quickly unbuckle and I run to the door. "Babe slow down." Nick says from behind me. I keep running to the door and don't even knock and walk in fast. "Mom? Maddie?" I say as I stand in the living room. I hear footstep from the stair case and see my mom carrying my baby who is asleep in her arms. "Hey dems." She whispers. I smile at her and carefully take Aubree from her arms and hold her close to me and take in her scent. "I'm sorry you had to cut your Honeymoon short Demi." My mom says to me. "Its okay. I was missing my baby girl anyways." I say holding her closer to my chest. I look down at her and she hasn't woken up since my mom handed her off to me. I kiss her forehead and then sit on the couch with her. Nick sits next to me and wraps his arms around both of us. "I'm glad to be back with my baby in my arms." I whisper to him. He smiles at me and kisses my temple. "Let's get her home babe." Nick says to me. I nod my head. Nick walks up to the guest room and I stand up at the front door just as Maddie walks up to me. "Thank you baby girl for taking care of her for me. I am sorry that she wouldn't stay with you for a bit longer." I said to her and then hugged her. Maddie smiles at me and hugs me back. "Dems you are an amazing mom for to want to be with you so badly." She says with a big smile on her face. "Thank you Mads. That really means a lot coming from you." I say to her just as Nick walks up to us. "Ready to go baby?" Nick asks. I nod my head and grab his free hand and we head out the door.
