My Love Is Like a Star

Chapter 21

The next morning I woke up with my head on Nick's chest. "Good morning beautiful." He whispered as he kissed my forehead. I smiled up at him. I was glad Nick had stayed with me it felt like we were already married with a little girl. I giggled to myself at the thought of that. I heard my bedroom door open and saw a little blonde head wonder in. She climbed on to the bed and wiggled her way into my arms putting her head on my chest. I loved my morning snuggles with my little girl. Nick looked over at her and smiled. He kissed the top of her head as she fell back asleep in my arms. I looked over at Nick who was now getting dressed and ready to start his day. I didn't want to move because I hadn't had Aubree snuggle me like this for a couple of weeks. "I have to go to work but I'll text you after I'm done." He told me before he kissed my lips. I smiled up at him. "Don't work too hard Jonas." I told him. He chuckled and then left for work. I kissed Aubree's head and her eyes fluttered open. "Mama?" She said sleepily. "yes baby girl?" "What we going to do today?" "Well I was thinking we could go to the park and maybe go see grandma. How does that sound?" Her eyes grew wide with excitement. "I wanna go see gama!!!" She practically screamed. I chuckled and climbed out of bed. "Come on lets go have some breakfast and then we can go to grandma's and maybe go to the park later.

Nick POV

So I really wasn't going to work. I am really planning something special to surprise Demi with but it might take me a few days to plan. I went straight to the jewelry store to go find the perfect engagement ring. I decided that I am going to send her on a scavenger hunt to find me and the ring. This might take a while so I have a lot of planning to do and I want to get her sisters and Aubree involved in some way too.

Demi POV:

Aubree and I arrived at my parent's house around 1 in the afternoon. I got her out of the car and walked up to the door knocking on it and walking inside.“Mom? Maddie?” I called as I walked in.  I heard footsteps come out of the kitchen and my mom’s head popping out. “Demi! You’re here! I didn’t even hear your car. Give me my princess!” She said grabbing at Aubree. I handed over Aubree to my mom. “Where’s Maddie?” I asked her. “Uh she’s out  with her friends and Dallas right now.” She told me. Something didn’t seem right it seemed as if she was hiding something and I wanted to know what it was.  “Oh okay.”

Nick POV:

I finally picked out the ring that I wanted to get her. I had it engraved with my love is like a star you can’t always see me but I’m always there.  It has 3 small diamonds on both sides then a medium sized diamond in the middle. I couldn’t wait to give this to her. It was perfect. I’ve had what I wanted for the ring picked out for months just haven’t had it engraved for the right girl and I know that Demi is it. I told her sisters to meet me at Olive Garden so we can discuss my plan to get her to come and find me at Disneyland’s rose garden with a dozen roses and the ring.

Demi POV:

Aubree and I hung out with my mom for probably an hour or so before Aubree came up to me.   “Mommy we go to the park now?”  She asked sweetly. I smiled down at her , “Ask grandma if she wants to go with us.” “Gama do you want to go to the park with us?” she asked her quietly. “I would love to princess.” She said. We all put on our shoes and headed out. There was a small park just down the road from my parent’s house that I knew Aubree would love. We walked to the park and when we got there, Wilmer and his girlfriend were sitting at a bench near the swings. I stopped for a second, I hadn’t seen wilmer since the day he broke up with me. I grabbed Aubree’s hand and we walked passed them as if we didn’t see them.  “Demi?” he said as I stopped dead in my tracks. “Wilmer. Hi.” I said without any emotion.  I held on to Aubree not letting her go. “Who’s this?” He asked looking at her. “This is my daughter Aubree.” He stood there shocked at the word daughter. “Well we’re going to go this munchkin wants to play on the playground so see ya.” I said in a hurry to leave without another word being said. As we arrived at the swings I could feel his eyes on me which made me uncomfortable. “Mama.” Aubree said breaking me from my thoughts. “What is it lovebug?” I asked her. “Who that man?” she asked me. “That was one of mommy’s old friends baby. He isn’t very nice so we don’t really talk to him.” She nodded her head. “Can you push me on the swings please?” She asked. I nodded and helped her on the swing. “Demi you okay? I know seeing Wilmer probably wasn’t the best thing today.” My mom asked me.  “I’m fine mom; I’m so in love with Nick, he didn’t really faze me.” I said smiling at her.

Nick POV:

While sitting with Demi’s sisters at Olive Garden we decide the best way to get her to go to Disneyland is to use Aubree.  We decide that they tell her that they should all go because Aubree has never been.  Then they will leave Demi with me at the rose garden and I will propose. I can’t wait to do this. I want to do it this weekend. “So does that sound okay?” Dallas asks after she explains what she wants to do. I nod my head yes. I’m so nervous but I can’t wait for Demi to become my fiancé and for Aubree to become mine once I marry Demi.
