Chapter 33

The next day Nick and I finish packing our things to head off on our honeymoon. Nick won't tell me where we're going and he knows I hate surprises. I put the last of my clothes in my suite case and walk down to Aubree's room to see if she's done packing for my parents' house. "Hey babygirl you done packing yet?" I ask walking in. Aubree looks up at me with tears in her eyes. "Come here." I say bending down and opening my arms for her. She drops the bear she is holding and runs into my arms. I wrap my arms around her and hold her close. "Shhhh mommy's got you." I whisper in her ear as I pick her up. I carry her to her bed and sit down with her on my lap. "You're going to have so much fun at Grammy and Papa's house baby." I tell her as I play with her hair. "Auntie Maddie will be there too." I say knowing that she loves Maddie. "You promise you come back mommy." She whispers. "Yes baby I promise." I say holding out my pinkie for her. She gives me a small smile and wraps her small pinkie around mine. I kiss her forehead. "Now let's finish packing so you can have the best time at Grammy's. I bet you won't even miss me you'll be having too much fun with Auntie Maddie and Grammy and Papa." I say to her with a smile.

I set Aubree down next to me and grab her Elsa back pack. "Here baby girl can you put some toys you want to take in this bag please?" I ask her handing her the back pack. She nods her head and takes it. I watch her as she puts her barbies and her teddy and some coloring books into her back pack. I smile and then grab her small pink suite case and start putting some clothes into it. After we finish packing we head down stairs where Nick is waiting for us. "Ready to go?" He asks me. "Yup we're ready." I say with a smile. I grab Aubree's hand and head out to the car. I put Aubree in her car seat and then buckle her in handing her the small teddy bear she always sleeps with. Buddy jumps in after I move and sits on the seat next to Aubree.

Once we arrive at my mom's house we walk up to the door and Bree pushes the door bell. My mom opens the door. "Well there's the cutie that's staying with me and Papa for a whole week!" She says inviting us in. We walk inside and my dad and Maddie are in the other room. I bend down to Aubree. "Now you take good care of Buddy okay?" I tell her. She nods her head with her little thumb in her mouth. "Go see Auntie Maddie while I talk to Grammy okay?" I say kissing her forehead. She slowly walks over to Maddie and reaches for her to sit with her on the couch. "Thank you for watching her mom. If she gets to be too much just call and we'll cut the trip short." I tell her. "Nonsense Demetria. She'll be great and she'll be fine." She tells me. I look over to see Aubree smiling and playing with Buddy and Maddie. "Babe we better get going." Nick says to me. I nod and hug my mom. "Have a great time. Be safe and don't worry too much about Bree baby she'll be okay." She says as she hugs me. I nod and then grab Nick's hand and we start to walk out the door.

"NOOOOOO!" I hear Aubree scream as she runs towards me. I bend down to catch her. "Shhhhhh." I say as I pick her up. "Hey now you're okay. You and Auntie Mads get have a great sleep over for a whole week. Okay? I promise Aubree I'll be back okay." I tell her rocking her and holding her close to me as she cries softly. Maddie walks up and takes Aubree from my arms. "NOOO!" She screams and cries out. I kiss her head. "I love you Bree." I say as Nick and I walk out of the house. "MOMMY!!!" I hear her scream as the door shuts. It takes everything I have not to run back in there and take her from my parents and have her go on the trip with us. I climb into the car and Nick starts to drive off to the airport. Half way there I am staring out the window thinking about my babygirl and how she must feel. "Babe. She'll be okay." Nick says placing his hand on my leg. I look over at him. "I know. I just feel awful that I left her like that." I say to him. "We're going to have a great time okay baby. I know you're going to miss her and so am I but we need this time together." He says with a smile as he parks the car. "You're right baby we do need this time together. We have soo much to catch up on." I say winking at him.

Once on the private plane that Nick got us we sit together and hold hands. I look up at him and smile. I really do need this and so does Nick. Time to ourselves is a good thing. I lay my head on his shoulder and smile up at him as he puts his head on top of mine. "You going to tell me where we're going now?" I ask him. "Nope its still a surprise." He says with a sly smile. I sigh and then close my eyes.
