My Love Is Like a Star

Chapter 20

Nick POV:

        Aubree fell asleep halfway through Tangled with her head on my lap. I smiled at how much she had begun to trust me. “I’ll go put her up in her bed for a nap.” I told Demi. She smiled at me and nodded turning her attention back to the movie. I scooped her up off the couch and walked up the stairs. She was so light and so adorable when she was sleeping. I walked into her room which was literally covered with everything frozen. I silently laughed to myself; I walked over to her big bed and tucked her in. Her eyes opened a little as I laid her down.  “Sleep well Aubree.” I said kissing her head. “Night night daddy.” She said half asleep. I stood there in shock for just a minute and then smiled down at her. I kissed her head again and walked out of her room cracking the door. I walked down stairs and sat next to demi. “Nick, are you okay?” She asked me. I nodded my head yes. “She called me dad.” I said still in shock. Demi smiled at me. “That’s a good thing Nick. That means she trusts you and she loves you.”  She said with a smile plastered on her face.  I smiled back at her, maybe it was time to ask Demi to marry me.  Even though we hadn’t been dating that long I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her and Aubree.

Demi POV:

          I could see that Nick was in love with my baby girl just as much as I was when he said that she called him dad. The movie had ended and it was about 4 when Aubree came out of her room rubbing her eyes. I smiled as she walked down the stairs and climbed on the couch in between me and Nick. “Hey baby girl. Did you have a nice nap?” I asked her. She nodded her head and then snuggled into my side. I smiled up at Nick and looked down at my little girl who was still half asleep from her nap. “You know what I think we should all go out to dinner tonight.” Nick said. “I think that sounds like a fun idea.” I said smiling at him.  I got off of the couch leaving Nick and Aubree there so I could go get my shoes and something for Aubree to wear.  I grabbed a dress for Aubree to wear with her little black flats and I grabbed my red heels.  As I came down stairs I heard Nick talking to Aubree quietly and she was giggling. “What’s so funny?” I asked as I came down the stairs. “Nothing mama.” She said with a big smile on her face. “Come on sweetie lets go get you changed into this pretty dress.” I said as I lead her to the down stairs bathroom.  “Mommy?” “Yes baby girl?” “I called Nick daddy. Is he mad at me?”  I smiled at her and then chuckled. “No princess he isn’t mad at you. He loves you and he would want you to call him daddy if that’s what you want to call him.” I told her while I slipped on her flats. We walked out of the bathroom and into the living room. “Aubree you look beautiful.” Nick told her. “Thank you daddy!” She said. Realizing that she said daddy again she hid behind me not wanting Nick to yell at her like she thought he was going to do. Nick gave me a confused look and then I explained why she was acting this way. “She thinks that you’re going to yell at her for calling you daddy.”  I said while my little girl gripped the back of my legs.Nick walked over to Aubree and bent down to her height “Aubree, you can call me daddy if you want to.” He said with a smile.  Aubree carefully let go of my legs and walked out to Nick. Nick held out his arms and she walked into them. He gave her a hug and she returned it. I pulled out my camera snapping a picture of my two favorite people.  I smiled at Nick as he looked up at me. He had something running through is mind I could see it in his eyes. I scooped up Aubree and grabbed my hand. “Let’s go out to dinner.” He said as he kissed my cheek.

Nick drove us to a fancy restaurant in Beverly Hills. “Reservation under Jonas.” He said to the hostess who was eyeing him up and down. I leaned over and kissed his lips while hostess was still looking at him. She walked us to our table and then Nick sat Aubree down in between us.  She handed us each a menu.  “Demi what was that kiss for earlier?” He asked me looking at me suspiciously. “Nothing.” I replied bluntly. I helped Aubree pick out what she wanted for dinner ignoring Nick’s questions.  Our waitress came up to our table to take our order she was pretty with long brown hair and she was thin. She couldn’t take her eyes off my boyfriend.  “What can I get for you?” She asked. “I’ll have a cesar salad and she’ll have chicken nuggets and a water for both of us.” I said. “And for you handsome?” She said. Oh no she didn’t, he’s mine. I thought to myself. “I’ll have a burger and fries with a water also.” Nick said with a smile. I gave him the dirtiest look possible.  “What?” Nick asked. “Nothing.” I said.  We all ate our dinners in silence.  And the car ride home was also quiet.

Once we arrived home Aubree was asleep in the back seat and nick got her out while I walked up to the house and unlocked it. He walked inside and laid Aubree on the couch while I walked into the kitchen to make some tea. “Demi we need to talk about what happened at dinner.” He said. “There’s nothing to talk about.” “Obviously something was bugging you. You didn’t talk all night except to Aubree. Now tell me what was wrong?” “Fine! You didn’t see right in front of you did you? Both of the waitresses kept eyeing you and you kept giving them the eye that you always give me!” “Demi you’re jealous over some stupid girls? Babe, you were the only one I saw at dinner tonight. You’re so beautiful and so gorgeous and the only one I wanna be with.” He said as he placed his arms around my waist. I couldn’t stay mad at him. He leaned down to kiss me I wanted to push him back but I couldn’t. I was too in love with this man. He kissed my lips but pulled away when we heard little foot steps pad against the floor into the kitchen. “Mama?” my little girl said walking to me. I picked her up and she laid her head on my shoulder.  I turned so Nick could kiss her goodnight. “Night Aubree.” He said kissing her head. “Night night dada.” She said. I walked up stairs and changed her into her Elsa night gown and tucked her into her bed. “Night lovebug. I love you so much!” I said as I kissed her cheek and walked out of her room shutting the door. I walked back down stairs “I better get going.” Nick said. I kissed his lips and he kissed me back. “Stay with me.” I said.
