Chapter 37

The next morning I wake up with my baby girl next to me and my wonderful husband on the other side of her asleep and half off the bed. I play with Aubree's hair and kiss her little nose softly and then carefully get up out of bed. Aubree stirs in her sleep moving over to my spot. I smile and then grab my robe and the head down stairs to cook breakfast. I start to cook eggs and bacon crossing my fingers that I don't burn anything. I decide to cut up some fruit into shapes for Bree. As I am finishing up cooking I hear little feet coming down the stairs. "Mommy?" My little messy haired girl says as she walks into the kitchen. "Hey babygirl. How did you sleep?" I ask as I bend down to get her. I pick her up and hold her close to me. "Mommy, I got scared that you left me again." Aubree tells me with her little thumb in her mouth. I cuddle her close. "Bug mommy wont ever leave without telling you. I promise" I say reassuring her and holding her close to me as Nick comes down the stair. "There's my two favorite girls!" He says happily. "DADDY!!!!!" Aubree shouts and tries to wiggle out of my arms. I laugh and put her down and she runs to him. He picks her up and spins her around. I smile at them and then I walk into the kitchen.

"Babe I made breakfast for you two." I say bringing Nick a plate of bacon and eggs and a small plate of toast and fruit for Aubree. I set the plates down and start to feel nauseous and run to the bathroom as fast as I can. I make it just in time and throw up. I hear Nick coming into the bathroom. "Babe?" He says as he walks in. "Are you okay?" He bends down and rubs my back. "Yea I'm fine baby I just felt really nauseous all of the sudden." I say trying to stand up. Nick helps me up and walks me back to the table and helps me sit next to our daughter. "Mommy otay?" She asks me as I sit down. I hold her little hand "Yes bug mommy's okay" I say squeezing her little hand and smiling at her. Aubree giggles and then takes a bite of her toast.

Nick walks into the kitchen and fixes me a small plate with just toast. He sets it in front of me. "Thank you babe" I say with a smile as he kisses my cheek and sits across from me. I start to eat my toast and my stomach settles a little bit. I let out a small yawn and look at the clock its 9:45 AM. I look over at my little girl who now has Nutella all over her face and I chuckle. "Well someone is going to need a bath before we go out today." I say smiling at her. Aubree giggles. "Mommy I done." She says pointing to her toast and eggs that she hardly touched. "No bug you need to eat some eggs please." I tell her. Aubree does a pouty face which normally work but Nick see her. "Aubree you need to eat your eggs like mommy said." Nick says kind of stern. Aubree looks at him and then back at me. "No." She says putting her fork down and then getting off the chair next to me. "Aubree Lynn you sit in your seat now." Nick says to her. Aubree takes off running up the stairs to her room and slams the door. I take a deep breath and then look at Nick. I get up and follow her up the stairs and open the door to her room.

"Bree, Why didn't you listen to daddy?" I ask softly as I see her curled up on her bed hugging the teddy bear I got her not that long ago. "Mommy I not hungry. I don't want to eat no mores." She tells me. I walk over to her bed and sit down next to her and rub her back. "Bug next time you don't need to be mean to daddy. You need to use your words and say why you don't want to eat." I explain to her. "How about we go apologize to daddy for being sassy and eat 3 more bites of eggs and then you can be done and you can play while mommy and daddy clean up the kitchen." I tell her as she turns over to face me. She nods her little head and then reaches for me. I pick her up and carry her down stairs. Once we reach the bottom of the stairs I set her down and she slowly walks over to Nick. "I sowwy daddy." She says quietly to him. Nick smiles and picks her up and sets her on his lap. "Its okay princess but next time please don't be so sassy its not nice and it hurts my feelings when you are." Nick tells her and gives her a hug. She nods her little head and wraps her arms around his neck and gives him a kiss on the cheek. I hand Nick her plate and she starts to eat off of it when he sets it in front of her. When Aubree is finished Nick sets her down and she runs off to play. I help Nick clear the table and start washing the dishes in the kitchen getting that nauseous feeling again as Nick walks up behind me and wraps his arms around my waist.

I smile brightly at him. "How are you feeling baby?" He asks me. " I feel okay I think." I say taking a deep breath starting to feel nauseated again. "Maybe not." I say dropping the sponge into the sink and running to the bathroom again. This time Nick sprints right behind me. I throw up as Nick holds my hair back and rubs my back. As I finish I lean back on Nick and look up at him. "Nick I think I might be pregnant." I say with a small grin.
