My Love Is Like a Star

Chapter 7

        I woke up with Aubree still in my arms. I remembered the question that she asked me last night, I was really wondering who or what had made her asked me that. I got out of bed quietly and walked down stairs. I saw my little sister asleep on the couch still. I decided that I would try and make pancakes for them. While I was making the blueberry pancakes I saw Maddie stirring from her sleep. The smell of the food must have woken her up. She got off the couch and walked into the kitchen. "Good morning sunshine." I said to her as she walked into the kitchen and side hugged me. "Morning." she said. "This smells really yummy Dems. What kind of pancakes are they?" "Blueberry." I said with a smile. "Hey I've been meaning to ask you something." She gave me a confused look. I laughed at her as I flipped the pancake over. " I was wondering if you would want to go on tour with me and help me out with Aubree. I've seen how great you are with her and I really need someone to keep her in the wings while I'm out on stage." Her eyes widened and she smiled. "OMG!!! YES I WOULD LOVE TO!" She said wrapping her arms around me tightly. I smiled and kissed her head. "Great! I'm glad you are willing to!" I said laughing. 

        After I finished making the pancakes I walked upstairs to wake up my sleeping beauty. I walked into my room and Aubree was still asleep. I climbed on to the bed and whispered in her ear. "Come on my sleeping beauty. Its time to wake up." She began to turn over and she opened her eyes blinking the sleep away. She wrapped her little arms around me and I lifted her up and we walked down stairs to Maddie who was sitting at the table eating her pancakes. I had a small plate for Aubree already made. I set her down at the table and she began to eat. I sat in between them and smiled. "Aubree guess what!" Maddie said to her. Aubree just looked at her and shrugged. "I'm going on tour with you and mommy.  Wow that's weird to say. I am going to help watch you while your mom is on stage. Still very weird to say." Maddie said to her. I was laughing at her because she couldn't get over the fact that I was a mom. Aubree smiled at Maddie. "YAAAAYYYY!!!" She said loudly. I was really happy that she was happy.

        After breakfast I decided to sit at my white piano and pratcie a little of what I wanted to play on tour. I started to play Nightingale while the girls where playing barbies. I sang quietly while playing the piano. I hadn't noticed that Aubree was next to me until she spoke. "Mommy sing to me please." She told me. I smiled down at her. I set her on my lap this time. “Put your hands on top of mommy’s.” She did and I began to play. 

I can't sleep tonight

Wide awake and so confused

        "I played the piano mommy!” she said sounding very excited.  I smiled back at her. “Yes you did!” I said to her. I proud of my girl, I set her back on the bench. Maddie walked over to us and saw that I was playing. She smiled at me. "I love when you play that song Demi. Its one of my favorites." She said with a smile. I began to play more of Nightingale and sang again. Maddie and I both looked down at Aubree. She fell asleep on the bench with her head in my lap. I snapped a picture of her and posted it with the caption “Someone was working hard with their mommy.” We both smiled at her and I decided to gently pick her up and take her to her room for a nap. I came back down stairs to my little sister on the couch watching TV. Maddie snuggled up to me on the couch and I played with her hair as we watched CSI on the TV. "How about after Aubree wakes up we go get some lunch?" I suggested. Maddie nodded her head and we turned our attention back to the TV.

        Around 12 Aubree came walking down the stairs rubbing her eyes.“Hey baby girl. Wanna go to lunch?” I asked her. Her chocolate brown eyes lit up and she nodded. I walked over and kissed the top of her head. I grabbed her shoes and helped her put them on. “Where do you wanna go have lunch at sweetie?”  I knew her answer would either be McDonalds or Chuck E Cheese since she loved that they had the play areas there. “Mcdonalds!!!” She practically screamed.  I laughed.  “Okay. Is that okay with you Maddie?"  Maddie laughed at Aubree. "I don't care Demi." She said as she walked over and grabbed Aubree and picked her up and showered her with kisses. Maddy had Aubree in her arms and we walked out to the car. We drove to McDonalds with no complications. I got out of the car and got Aubree out also. I grabbed her little hand and looked down at her. She is so cute! I love her so much.  

        Maddie grabbed Aubree's other free hand and we swung her all the way to the front door. “Aubree what do you want to eat sweetie?” “Chicken nuggets mommy.”We order our food and walked over to a table Maddie had been saving for us and sat down.  Aubree climbed up next to me, I smiled at her. “Mommy can I go play now?”  I looked over and noticing that she ate all but one of her nuggets. “Yes love you can go play now. Please stay where I can see you.” I told her and kissed the top of her head. She got down and ran over to the slide. "Maddie you know she has grown attached to you." I told her as I glanced out of the side of my eye to see where Aubree was. "Really Demi?" Maddie asked me. "Yea she is so excited that you're going on tour with us." I said as I looked over my shoulder to find Aubree again. She was playing in the tunnel with another little girl. She saw me and she waved and I waved back to her. Maddie and I talked for a good half hour about anything and everything. "I have to be home in like a half hour cause Bea is coming over." I nodded and picked up our trays and threw away our trash. “Aubree! Time to go!” She came running to me. I picked her up and headed for the door with Maddie beside me. We head back to my parents house.
