Chapter 23

We drove home together holding hands with Aubree passed out in her carseat. All I could do was smile at him the whole ride home. "So did you have a great day with Aubree?" "Yea she freaked out when Cinderella came up and gave me the third note. I took a lot of pictures of her." I said smiling. I look back at Aubree and think to myself about how Nick and I have to tell her that we're getting married. I really hope she'll be excited. We get back to the house and Nick carries Aubree up to her room and I help get her ready for bed. Slipping off her Elsa dress and putting her into her princess Pjs. We tuck her into bed and kiss her goodnight and walk off to our room. "Demi, you know we have to tell everyone now about the engagement right?" Nick asks me while he changes into his sweat pants. "I know babe. But we have to tell our little one first. I am hoping she'll be happy I mean you're already like her dad any ways but, I don't really know if she'll understand." I tell him as I climb into bed. He sits down next to me. "Baby she'll be thrilled we'll tell her in the morning." He says kissing my head. He lays down and I cuddle up next to him.

The next morning I woke up alone again. I walk down to Aubree's room and she's still asleep cuddling her Olaf. I smile at her and close her door and walk down stairs where Nick is making breakfast again for me. "Good morning babe." He says smiling at me. I look down at my hand to double check to see if yesterday actually happened. I smile and still see the beautiful ring he gave me. I walk over to him and give him a kiss. "Thank you for making me breakfast. " I say hugging him. "I kinda have an idea for how we should tell everyone about us getting married." Nick says putting the eggs he made on a plate. "What's that?" "I say we have a big dinner tonight and invite my family and yours over and tell them at dinner." He says smiling. "I love that idea babe. It sounds perfect." Little footsteps come down the stairs. And my messy haired little girl comes around the corner and climbs onto my lap. "Good morning baby girl." I say kissing her head. "Want some breakfast?" Nick asks her. She nods her head and rubs her eyes. He fixes her a bowl of Lucky Charms and sets it down on the table in front of her. "Bug, we need to tell you something." I say looking at her. "Okay mommy." She says before she takes a bite of cereal.

"Daddy and I are getting married baby." I say. Her eyes widen with excitement across her face. A little squeal comes out of her mouth. "Really?" she says excitedly. I nod and smile at her. She squeals again almost bursting my ear drums. She turns around to face me and hugs my neck tightly. "Best news ever." She whispers in my ear. I hug her back with a big smile on my face. After she finishes hugging me she gets down and runs to Nick and hugs him. I was super glad that she took the news well now I hope my family and Nick's will do the same. "Bree, you can't say anything to anyone about me and daddy getting married. Its going to be a surprise and everyone is supposed to come over tonight and we are going to tell them then." I explain to her. She nods her head and pretends to zip her lips.

A little while later I call my parents and tell them that I want to have a family dinner with them and my sisters. Nick does the same and invites his parents and his brothers. I help Nick set up for the dinner and get Aubree dressed in a cute outfit. Around 6 everyone starts to show up. My parents are the first to arrive with my sisters. "Auntie Maddie!!!" Aubree screams when she sees her. "Hey cutie! You look like mommy in that little black leather skirt." Aubree giggles. "Let's go play Mad!" Aubree says to her with exciment. "Woah there baby girl aren't you forgetting some one." My mom says. Aubree runs over to her and hugs her and my dad really quick before running off grabbing Maddie by the hand and dragging her up stairs to her room. I sit down with my parents and dallas at the dinning room table for awhile until Nick's family arrives.

I start to serve dinner when I realize that my little girl and my baby sis are upstairs playing. I walk upstairs listening to my little girl playing pretend with Maddie. I walk into the room, " Hey girls time for dinner." I say. "Mommy I sit next to Maddie?" Aubree asks me sweetly. I pretend to pout. "Fine." I say pushing out my lip. "okay I sit next to both you and Auntie Maddie." She says trying to make me happy again. I smile at her. " You don't have to sweetie. Sit next to whoever you want to buggy." I say. She smiles and raises her arms and I lift her up. She kisses my cheek and hugs my neck tightly. "I love you mommy." She whispers in my ear. I hug her tightly and walk down stairs to my family and set her next to Madison.

I sit next to Nick and Dani. I start shaking my leg and Nick notices that I have and sets one hand on my knee and rubs it. I look over at him and smile. "So Nick why are we all here?" Denise asks him. My eyes widen and I look over at Nick and try to calm myself down. He takes my hand and gently rubs his thumb against the top of my hand. "Well we thought it would be a good idea to have both of our families together for a family dinner since we hardly see you as is." He begins to say. "But we also have an announcement." The room goes silent, if I dropped a pen you could hear it hit the ground. "What's you announcement?" Maddie asks curiously. I take a sharp breath in and grab nick's hand and squeeze it. "Demi and I are engaged." Nick says.
