Chapter 25

Once we get home Nick carries my sleeping little girl upstairs to her room  and tucks her into bed. I make me a cup of tea and sit on the couch and wait for Nick to finish tucking Aubree in. “Hey love.” He says walking down the stairs.  I look over at him and smile “Hey.” I say with a  smile.  He sits down next to me and wraps his arm around my shoulders and I lean into his chest.  He kisses the top of my head. “Baby what’s bothering you?” He asks.  I stay quiet for awhile and then I finally speak. “Did you really mean what you said to Joe the other night?” I ask him. “You heard that huh?” I nod my head. “Yes Demi I really meant every word that I said to him. You’re my girl, forever and always. No matter if we fight or whatever the case is  I love you and I want you to be mine forever.” He says as he gently places a kiss on my lips. I smile and then lose the smile quick. “What is it babe? Tell me please.” He says. I frown “Joe basically told me he hated me that night after you talk to him in the kitchen.” I say frowning.  I look over at Nick who is now very upset. “Nick its okay really.” I say trying to calm him down.  He gets up from the couch and grabs his jacket “Nick where are you going?” I say starting to panic “I’ll be back I need some air.” “I shouldn’t have told you I should have kept between me and Joe.” I say almost crying. “No I’m glad you told me Demi. I needed to know.” He says walking over to me and kisses me before he heads out the door.

I walk to the window and watch as my fiancé walks down the street in his black jacket.  I start to feel tears roll down my face. I decide to go check on Aubree. She is still asleep, I decide to climb into her bed with her. As I climb into bed I feel my little girl cuddle herself into me. I wrap my arms around her and start to cry. I lay awake for awhile watching Aubree sleep until I hear the front door shut.  I slowly get out of Aubree’s bed careful not to wake her up. I walk out of her room to see Nick about to climb the stairs. “Oh you’re awake.” He says. “Yes I’ve been awake since you left I just need someone to hold for awhile.” I say trying not to cry again.  He walks up the stairs and reaches me. “I’m sorry I left baby. I just I couldn’t stand the fact that my stupid ass brother said he hated you after everything. I love you I’m sorry.” He says kissing my lips. I kiss him back. His hands reach my waist and his fingers wrap around my belt loops. He turns towards the bedroom door and starts to pull me by them. I giggle and follow him into the bedroom and shut the door.
