My Love Is Like a Star

Chapter 10

        Aubree was up stairs taking a nap and Nick and I were still on the couch talking about the tour. I couldn't believe that it was only 2 weeks away before I had to hit the road with my girl. "How do you think she'll do?" Nick asked. "Honestly I don't know. It will just all depend on the day." I told him. "I wanna get her something special so she'll never forget that just because I'm gone or on stage for an hour that I still love her." I told him. "Maybe you could get her a locket? Or a bracelet with an engraving on it?" Nick suggested. That wasn't a bad idea. "Hmmmm...I will think about it." I said with a smile. I sat back on the couch next to Nick. We sat there until about 5 watching crime shows. "We'll I have to go. I'll see you in a few weeks Demi." He said standing up. I stood up and gave him a hug goodbye. "Bye Jonas I'll see you in 2 weeks." I said with a smile on my face. 

        Aubree woke up around 5:30, she came down stairs with a sad look on her face. "Baby girl whats wrong?" I asked her. When she hit the bottom stair she ran to me throwing her arms around my neck. "I had a bad dream momma." She said quietly. I hugged her tightly "Sweetie its over now and I've got you. Nothing is going to hurt you. Mommy's got you."  I sang quietly until she calmed down. I walked into the kitchen and I got her a sippy cup of water. "I love you piglet." I whispered into her ear. "Wove you too momma." She said quietly. I set her down on the couch and we cuddled up and watched Cinderella for the 6th time this week. "Mommy where Nick?" "He had to go home beautiful. We'll see him in a couple weeks." I told her kissing the top of her head. 

~2 weeks later~

Its been 2 weeks since I saw Nick and we were leaving tomorrow to start my Neon Lights tour. I guess I should start packing the rest of our stuff. We are leaving at 3 am tonight which means getting into bed earlier tonight for both me and Aubree. Its only 12 in the afternoon and Aubree and I are in the living room playing on the Wii. She loves this bowling game that came with it. Of course I am letting her win. "I gonna win again momma!" Aubree said picking up the controller off the couch. "I don't think so missy!" I said tickling her. Her screams and laugh filled the living room. "Stop mommy Stop!!!" She screamed. She broke away from my grip and starting running around the living room. She screamed every time I would try to catch her. "No mommy! Don't catch me!" She said as she ran around the couch. I finally grabbed her from behind and we fell on the floor. I was tickling her and she was screaming. I set her on my stomach and she giggled. "I love you piglet." I said tapping her nose. "I wove you too mommy." she said laying on top of me wrapping her little arms around my neck. I sat up and gave her a hug. "Come on mom lets go play the Wii!" She said happily. We got up and went back to playing the Wii. After we played a couple rounds of the bowling game I decided to make Mac N' Cheese for lunch since I couldn't possibly burn that. Aubree and I sat around the table eating our Mac N Cheese. "Bree we are leaving eeearrrlllyyyy in the morning tomorrow so that means early bed time lovebug." I explained to her. "Momma can I sleep with you tonight pwwweeeeaaaassseeee?" she aske with her big brown puppy dog eyes. I sighed, I couldn't say no to this kid. She has me wrapped around her finger so well. "Okay baby you can sleep with mommy tonight." "Yay!!!" She screamed and then giggled.

         I cleaned up our mess and then scooped up my little girl off her chair. We walked up to her room and I pulled out a little purple suite case with Elsa and Ana on the front of it. "Okay piglet you need to pick out toys you want to take and put them in this suite case. Mommy will be right back I have to go get another suite case for you clothes." She nodded and started to put toys into her bag. I walked into my room and grabbed the black and white polka dotted suite case that I bought for Aubree.  I walked back into her room and started to pack almost every piece of clothing she had. I also put head bands and hair ties in a baggie and packed them away. "Mommy bows!" she said grabbing at her little drawer full of hair bows. I laughed and then put some of the bows that went with her out fits in the baggie too. I finished packing her bag and took it into my room. Aubree was finished packing her toys and she rolled her little bag into my room. "Here mama." She said handing me the little purple suite case.  I smiled and took the case from her she skipped off and into her bedroom. My phone went off. It was a text message from Nick.

Can't wait to start touring with you! We're going to have so much fun! See you at 3 am. =)

        I smiled getting all these warm feelings inside of me. I didn't want to ruin our friendship so I kept these feelings to myself.  I kept packing my stuff. It was around 5pm when Aubree came into my room jumping on my bed while I was still packing my suite case double checking to make sure I had everything that I needed. "Mommy! Can I play on your phone pwease?" She asked sweetly. "No baby not right now." I said. She stopped jumping on my bed and she pouted. "No, no pouting Aubree. If you pout you won't get it at all later." I said sternly. She immediately stopped pouting. My phone started ringing it was a face time ring and it was Nick's ring. I smiled widely. "Momma I get it?" "Sure baby." Aubree picked up my phone and answered it. 

"Hewoo?" 

Nick laughed. "I wasn't expecting a cute girl to answer the phone." 

Aubree giggled.

"Well she's the one who wanted to answer it. " I said laughing

"Are you helping mommy pack up all your clothes?" Nick asked her. 

"No I jumping on the bed." She said laughing

I smiled at how well they had bonded. She liked Nick so much. And I knew that he would be a perfect dad someday. 

"Can I talk to mommy please?" Nick asked her. Out of the corner of my eye I saw her nod. She walked over and handed me the phone and ran off down the hall. 

"Hey Dems." 

"What's up Jonas?" 

"Just seeing what you're up to kinda bored here at my house." He said nervously laughing.

I smiled at him. Nick and I talked for about an hour until Aubree came into my room and said she was hungry for a hamburger. 

"Well we will see you bright and early tomorrow Nick." I said smiling at him.

"See you two girls tomorrow Bye demi."

"Bye Jonas." 

        We hung up and I took Aubree to In-N-Out for a hamburger, fries and a chocolate shake since we wouldn't be back here for a month and a half.
