A/N : Takes place while Mitch was building their house on the island

Mitch had spent a full two days chopping down wood and killing the occasional sheep that came their way. Cookie had offered to help (after all, he definitely was the stronger of the two), but Mitch declined him each and every time.

The blue eyed boy wanted to prove himself. He wanted to show Cookie that he could be strong as well. Plus, a part of him felt responsible for all the tornadoes. While Cookie also seemed to be an attractor for them, Mitch was the same. It was honestly a miracle that one hadn't come near the island since they got there.

Two days in with constant working, no sleep, and minimal food had led Mitch to become extremely exhausted. Still, despite all this, he continued working. He needed to finish the house so that the two of them could live peacefully for as long as possible. They both sort of knew it was only a matter of time before another tornado struck, so Mitch really wanted to get the house done quickly so they could settle in.

"Mitch" Cookie said gently as he watched his friend work into the night once again. "What is it, Cook?" Mitch replied, his voice slurred from exhaustion as he rammed his axe into another tree. "Mitch, you need a break" Cookie replied calmly, going up behind the boy and wrapping his arms around him to prevent any more axe swinging.

"Cookie, I need to finish this" Mitch said, sounding slightly annoyed but too tired to wrestle out of the hug. "And you will" Cookie reassured, working Mitch's fingers off of the axe and letting it fall to the grass with a small clatter. He lowered the both of them to the ground and allowed his tired friend to curl up against him.

"But, right now, you need sleep" Cookie said with a small, concerned smile. Mitch was too exhausted to fight it at that point and, soon enough, he fell asleep against Cookie's chest. With that, Cookie fell asleep soon after, the weight against his chest keeping any nightmares away.

Mitch didn't cut down any trees the next day.
