A/N : ADHD!Puck because have you SEEN that man!? Takes place post canon

The last few days had been a mess.

The fairies had interfered with the lives of humans, leading to a 4th dimensional love triangle that ended in absolutely disastrous play from a bunch of incompetent salon workers. What's more is that Puck was right in the center of it, having enchanted the humans with the love spell in the first place. Oberon was pretty pissed as they all made their way back to the forest.

Titania went to where she typically rested, and the other fairies (with exception of Puck and Oberon) followed her. Turtle was still absolutely thrilled by her very brief interaction with Denis, and Sunshine was right there hyping her up. Cobweb, Mustardseed and Mote sang country while Moonbeam, Sunflower and Peaseblossom guarded their sleeping queen. All was joyous in their side of the woods...

"PUCK!" Oberon shouted, summoning the chaotic fairy. "Howdy, Oberon" Puck replied in an over the top southern accent, causing the fairy king to groan in annoyance. "You do realize that you could've caused a massive disaster with that little stunt of yours, right?" he asked with venom, anger clouding his mind.

"But I didn't" Puck countered with a mischievous smile, but Oberon wasn't laughing. "Did you even fix everyone?" he asked, voice tired. "Well..." Puck replied with a nervous chuckle. He knew he had cured a few, but he had also missed someone. Denis was still under the spell... Him and Helene's relationship was built upon chemically altered emotions.

"Are you fucking kidding me, Robin!?" Oberon asked, absolutely livid. Puck immediately knew it was serious because Oberon rarely cursed and almost never called him Robin. The laughter from the chaotic fairy immediately ceased. "You don't care how these actions could affect the humans, how they could effect me"

"What do you care!?" Puck bit back, ignoring the sharp feeling ripping through his heart. "Us fairies are supposed to keep relative distance from the humans!" Oberon shouted back, exasperated. "Only interact minimally- Their stupid, mortal brains would explode if they realized how much power we have" he explained, flailing his arms around wildly. "And, despite this, you cause a love triangle and don't think I forgot about what you did to that Nikki girl"

"You're the one who sent me to grab the flower!" Puck retaliated. Oberon just scoffed, turning away. "Leave, Puck" he said after a short moment.

"Sir-"

"Leave" Oberon repeated. "I don't want to fight with you right now, please" he continued. "Just... Go"

"...okay"

----------

Puck walked alone through the forest, occasionally kicking aside twigs and pebbles. "You pissed him off again" he mumbled to himself. "You should've just left the humans alone, you worthless fuckup. At least then he wouldn't be so angry"

He usually felt pretty comfortable being his chaotic self around Oberon. Sure, the king could get a bit irritable (there was a reason his marriage with Titania failed), but he never seemed genuinely angry with Puck over his antics. But, now? Now they were in a fight, and Puck felt solely responsible as waves of guilt and self hatred washed over him.

Oberon was also feeling quite guilty. His annoyance towards Puck's actions was warranted, but as the anger wore off, he realized how harsh he had come across, especially with how hard something like that could hit Puck. "Shit" he mumbled to himself before going out into the forest. He rarely walked around out there, not wanting his fancy clothing to get dirty, but he needed to find Puck.

----------

"Puck!" he shouted as he walked through the woods, trying to ignore the muck that was collecting at the bottom of his cloak. "Puck? Are you out... Here..." he trailed off as he found Puck sitting at the edge of a small lake, skipping stones across the water. It was obvious that he had been crying, but Oberon didn't comment on that.

"What do you want, Oberon?" Puck asked, his voice tired and sad. It was so uncharacteristic to his usual chaotic nature, and it slightly unnerved the king. "Can I... Skip rocks with you?" he asked after a moment, scratching at the back of his neck. Puck just shrugged in response before handing Oberon a stone.

The fairy king sat down on the grass, wincing slightly as it hit him how mucky his cloak would be when he got up again, and he threw a stone at the water. It immediately sank with a big splash due to his lack of proper technique, causing Puck to chuckle. Normally, Oberon would shoot him a glare, but at that moment he was just glad to see Puck cheer up a bit.

"Look, Puck..." he said after another quiet moment. Puck sighed but didn't say anything, so Oberon continued. "I shouldn't have snapped at you like that" he said, avoiding the other fairy's gaze. "Truth is that you're one of the few good things I have left, and I would rather not mess that up" he finally made eye contact with Puck. "I still don't think you should've done all that, but I am sorry for yelling at you"

"It's okay" Puck responded with a half hearted smile. "I mean it was only a matter of time before you got tired of me anyways"

"I'm not!" Oberon countered. "I'm not tired of you. Sure, you can get on my nerves sometimes but I would never grow tired of you" he explained, and he could swear he saw Puck's eyes grow watery. "Never" he emphasized, putting a hand on his boyfriend's shoulder. "And I'm sorry I made you feel otherwise"

"I never heard you apologize before" Puck said with a watery chuckle, his voice cracking slightly as he was obviously crying. Oberon for once actually laughed, despite the joke directly poking fun at him. "Well, I am full of surprises"

"I love you" Puck said quietly, leaning against Oberon and looking out at the trees that stood across the lake. Oberon smiled softly, fully wrapping an arm around Puck as he too gazed at the trees.

"Yeah" the fairy king said, voice more gentle than he usually allowed. "I love you too"
