A/N : Rarepair time, here we go! Arospec!Washu and Arospec!MTF!Nagi. Also Ryoko and Nagi are exes and you cannot convince me otherwise
Washu was normally very energetic (even to the point of mania), so it was painfully obvious whenever something was wrong.
Ryoko noticed that the mad scientist hadn't left her lab in nearly a full week. Now, this wouldn't have been too concerning considering that she was known for spending absurd amounts of time working on her inventions, but whenever anyone would peek in to check on her, they found that she was just sitting in her chair with a blank expression on her face. That was decidedly not normal.

Nagi happened to be within Earth's orbit when she got a very unexpected call from Ryoko. "Hello?" she answered, very confused over why her ex (and the person she'd promised to murder) was paying her a fucking video call.
"Hey, Nagi" the space pirate replied, not sounding particularly thrilled herself. "Look... Washu is in a depressive episode right now and none of us really know how to help her" she explained. "We were hoping that you could maybe come down here and talk to her. You are her girlfriend, after all"
"I'm not..." Nagi trailed off, deciding that getting in a pretty argument with her ex lover was not how she wanted to spend her time. "Fine" she caved. "I'll give Ken-Ohki your coordinates and come down there. Go hide in your attic or something, because I will shoot you on site if I see you"
"Yes, ma'am"

Nagi entered through the front door of the Masaki household to find Tenchi, both of the Jurai princesses, Kiyone, and Mishoshi sitting together on the couch, watching the television.
"Oh, so that's why Ryoko ran off" Kiyone muttered to herself as she noticed the bounty hunter standing in the doorway. No one seemed to mind her presence, which she was grateful for. She'd grown to be friendly acquaintances with the lot ever since she saved their asses in space. The only one that she still actively rivaled with was Ryoko, but she wasn't there anyway.
"Washu is in her lab under the stairs" Ayeka told her, pointing at the door she was referring to. "Thank you" Nagi replied quietly before turning to go into the room. Ken-Ohki ran off to find his girlfriend, but she paid that no mind.

"Well, this is a depressing sight" Nagi said simply as she entered the lab and spotted her... Partner(?) curled up in her rolling chair. "Hello, Nagi" Washu said in response, looking up at the bounty hunter with a blank expression.
"Did something happen that sparked your depression?" Nagi asked quietly as she walked around the room to observe all the little gadgets littered about. "Nope" Washu replied with an empty sigh. "Nothing happened" she added with finality. "Well, is there anything I can do to help?"
"I don't have the energy to have sex with you right now, if that's why you're here" the scientist told her, and the small smile that had been forming on Nagi's face fell. She had not come there with the intent of seduction, so the accusation kind of stung.
"I am here because I care about you" Nagi replied flatly. This got Washu's attention. "I know neither of us are particularly romantic people- Especially not after the shit I went through with Ryoko- But I do really care about you, more than I typically do for people" the bounty hunter explained, getting a small nod in response. "So..." she continued, walking over to her partner and sitting down in front of her to match her height. "If I can help you in any way, I would like to"
Washu was silent for a moment before she suddenly started laughing. "What? What's funny? Why are you laughing?" Nagi asked her, confused as hell. "Just..." Washu laughed a little more. "I forgot how fucking tall you are"
"I am fully aware" Nagi replied in slight annoyance. "It's like a constant reminder of the part of myself I try to forget"
"I think it's neat!" Washu defended. "Besides, my perspective is also definitely a little skewed because I myself am... Vertically challenged"
"So glad to know how much joy my suffering brings you"
"I love you too, Nagi"
