A/N : Takes place post episode 1x02 but pre episode 1x03. Also I got this fandom OFFICIALLY CANONIZED ON AO3 so that's exciting. I've actually gotten a (current) total of 10 fandoms canonized on there (with more to come) just because my interests are obscure as fuck.

It was freezing outside, and none of the creatures living within the house could find any firewood.

Morso was too small to reach up into any trees and snap off their branches, so he quickly gave up and decided to check around the nearby forest but he couldn't find any lying around. Aasi gave a look around as well and while he did find a few small twigs, he couldn't pick any up with his hooves. Käki also wanted to help out, but alas she was nailed down to the clock and couldn't do anything. Thankfully for her though, the clock she lived in was very warm on the inside so it didn't provide a nuisance to her specifically. With no other way to keep themselves warm, Aasi and Morso decided to take a night to just curl up together on the couch and drink hot cocoa.

Since Morso was still recovering from the injuries he sustained after getting stuck in one of Aasi's morso traps (which ironically served their purpose in a very unfortunate way), so the donkey decided to make the drink himself. That was a whole disaster in itself and Morso had to resist the urge to push past the pain and help the poor guy as he frantically ran around the kitchen, spilling hot water and chocolate powder all around as he did so. Morso probably would've found it funny if it wasn't so sad to witness.

"Myrsy, do you know where the marshmallows are?" Aasi called from the kitchen once he had finally managed to mix together the drink itself. Morso winced slightly at the name. Though he had grown familiar enough with it to respond as if it were his real one, the reminder of his lie always kind of hurt. "I think they're in the top cabinet" Morso replied loudly so the donkey could hear him. "They might be by the sugar"

"Thanks!" Aasi responded, and Morso gave a small noise of acknowledgement in response. A few moments later, he saw his roommate exit the kitchen with two steaming mugs of hot chocolate with marshmallows floating on the top. He sat next to the morso and handed him one of the mugs, to which he accepted it with a small "Thank you, Aasi"

Aasi leaned against him, resting his head on top of Morso's as they looked out the window. It was snowing. It was very cold but the view was pretty. "Are morsos even real, Myrsy?" Aasi asked softly. Considering that the only thing his trap caught was his roommate (who he didn't know was a morso), he was beginning to question if the things he feared so much were even real. Sure, he believed they were, but belief and truth were very different things.

"I'm sure they're real, Aasi" Morso assured him, taking a small sip of his cocoa as he did so. "Maybe they just aren't exactly like you think they are" he continued, tip-toeing around his words carefully enough to convey the truth about his species without accidentally outing himself as one. "They might not look like you think they do or act like you want them to. I'm sure they exist, but... Not just as you expect them to"

"You think so?"

"I know so"
