Rachel's POV
I wake up in my bed. I dress up and go downstairs.

Rachel :Morning mom.

Katnice :Good morning Rachel.

Rachel :So... Sunday today. What are we going to do?

Katnice :Spend our day as a family.

Rachel :Where?

Katnice :At my dad's house.

Rachel:Again?

Katnice :Where do you wanna go?

Rachel :Let's say.. Bayou?

Katnice :Rachel, every week we have the same conversation. We are not going to Bayou. Besides tonight it's full moon.

Rachel:But when I was a kid you told me that you wanted for us to spend some time in the wild. It's been nine years and I'm still stuck in this town. And what will happen that is full moon?

Katnice :Don't forget that you're going in the Salvatore School. They have a forest there too. Besides your aunt Keeilin can turn itno a werewolf.

Rachel:It's not the same. Cmon mom. Please. I won't run away again I promise. And we can turn Aunt Keeilin to a hybrid.

Katnice :We can't keep turning people into hybrids.

Rachel: Why not? You turned dad into one and you're happy. Why can't I find some joy too?

Katnice :Fine. We're going to Bayou..

Rachel:Yay!

Katnice :Next week.

Rachel :Yay were going today. You're the best mom.

I walk upstairs to get ready and call Irene.

Rachel:Irene get ready. We're going to Bayou.

We are in the car. My uncle Kol is driving. I can see we're going somewhere else instead of Bayou.

Rachel:I think you're going the wrong way.

Kol:No. This is the way for Mako.

Rachel:Mako? Mom you said we were going to Bayou.

Katnice :I changed my mind. Mako is one of my favorite places too and I want you to see it.

After a couple of hours we arrive.

Rachel:Now that we're here can we eat cause I'm starving?

We eat and then me and Irene decide to go for a walk. We can see that there is a volcano. We keeo walking for a while.

Irene:I think we're lost

Rachel:Me too. Ok we make a plan. You go that way and if we arrive to our famillies we call each other. If not we'll return here.

We split up and I walk closer to the beach, But something prevents me from doing that. The wind pushes me the other way, towards the volcano. It pushes me harder until I fall in a hole. I am trapped into a cave that is difficult to get out from the way in. I check my phone and see that I have no signal. I find another tunnel and go that way. I get in a room that looks like the inside of the volcano and has a pool in it. I realize that the pool ends up in the ocean and i can swim out but I'm not sure about that.

A couple of hours later

I am still thinking of what to do. I bet that my family must be looking for me and surely must have called for help.

Rachel: I have to get out of here.

But when i get in the pool the moon gets straight up of the volcano and the pool water starts doing something like boiling.. I am shocked for a second but then i swim out.

I reach the surface after swimming a lot and then swim to the coast. I lay on the sand exhausted. I see a flashlight pointing towards me and raise my head to see who it is. It's my aunt Davina and uncle Kol. When I see them I lay again on the sand.

Next day
I'm at school and i sit in the school library.

??? : So you're Rachel McCall. The daughter of the Tribrid and the true alpha.

Rachel:And you're Alaric Saltzman. The headmaster's grandson.

Rick: I heard you went to Mako yesterday.

Rachel:How did you hear that? Who told you?

Rick :Doesnt matter.

Rachel:Oh it matters to me.

Rick: I Don't care.

Rachel:Wow. You're like your mom. Bossy and a total bitch.

Rick:Don't talk about my mom like that. And you think your mom is different? In order to keep a vow your family does everything. Even kill people who don't deserve to die.

Rachel :And save much more. Now excuse me but I'm going home, or does that need questioning too?

I am walking at the beach. At my secret beach. No one know this place. I found out about it last year. The only ones who know are me and Irene.

I don't want to go home. I take of my shoes and put my feet in the water. I am so happy. I let out all my feelings. Suddenly my body disappears and it's place takes a tale. I fall down and look at my tale. "I am a mermaid?". I crawl away from the water and with my jacket that I had left on the coast I dry myself. After a few minutes I am human again. Thankfully. But how I turned into a mermaid? I think that Mako Island has more secrets than I thought.
