Escape

Rachel's POV
We run for a while through the maze and the blades and then we arrive right before the hallway towards the exit.

Rachel:Wait wait wait.

I look at the hallway.

Chuck:What? Is it a griever?

Rachel:Yep

Chuck:Great

Minho:Take this Chuck

He hands him the machine

Minho:Stay behind us.

Teresa:It's ok. Just stay with me.

Rachel:Okay listen. We have to go close to the door and it will open. We stay close we stick together. We get through this, we get out now. Or we die trying. Okay? Let's go!

With the spear in my hands I run to the hallway towards the griever with the others following. When the griever saw us it tried to attack. With the spears we kept it away from Teresa and Chuck so they could go open the door. We pushed the griever off the edge but another showed up. Teresa and Chuck activate the door and it opens.

Teresa:It's locked! We need an eight digit code!

Rachel:Eight digit.. Minho! What's the sequence?

Minho:What?

Rachel:The sections of the maze. What's the sequence?

Minho:7, 1, 5, 2..

Another griever appears from above us and lands on Minho. He tries to block the griever and then Jeff attack to the griever pushing him away from Minho. But unfortunately another griever appears and kills Jeff.

Chuck:Minho! The sequence!

Minho:Uh.. 6, 4, 8, 3 got it?

The door opens and the walls above us start falling crushing the grievers. The last griever walks towards us but with my spear I push it under the wall and it gets crushed. The door towards the maze closes and everything becomes dark. Another door opens and we walk through it. We enter a hallway with lights and pipes over it. We walk through the hallway and we find a door that say EXIT above it.

Frypan:Seriously?

I open the door and we walk into a room that looks like a control room. Newt and I walk to a computer that shows the glade

Newt:So they were watching us.

I look at him and then I turn to another screen. I see a buttong changing colors. I til my head to the side and I press the button. A big screen appears and there she is. Ava Paige. Also known as my mother..

Ava:Hello, my name is Dr.Ava Paige and if your watching this it means that successfully completed the maze trials. I wish I could be there in person so I could congratulate you. But circumstances seem to inpervent it.

A siren can be heard from the video.

Ava:I'm sure by now you all are confused, angry, frightened. I can only assure you that everything that has happened here, everything we've done to you. It was all done for a reason. You don't remember, but the sun has scorched our world. Billions of lives lost on fire, famin, suffer on global scale. But what came after was worse. We call it the flare. A deadly virus that attacks the brain. It is violent. Unpredictable, incurable. Or so we thought. In time a new generation emerged that could survive the virus. Suddenly there was a reason to hope for a cure. The finding it will not be easy. The young would have to be tested. Even sacrificed inside in harsh environments where their brain activity could be studied. All in an effort to understand what makes them different. What makes you different. You may not realize it, but you're very important. Unfortunately your trials have only just begun. As you have already just discovered, not everyone agrees with our methods. Progress is slow, people are scared. It may be too late for us. For me. But not for you. The outside world waits. Remember..

Gunshots are heard behind the camera. People with guns appear and shoot everybody. Ava puts a gun on her head.

Ava: WCKD is good.

She shoots and I turn my head to the side so i won't see. When I turn it I see a woman laying next to a chair. I walk towards her but someone's voice stops me.

Gally:Stop.

We all turn to face him

Gally:We can't leave.

I notice that he holds a gun.

Rachel:Gally we made it. We're out. We're free.

Minho:Stop. He's stung.

Gally:Free? You think we're free out there? No, no there's no escape from this place

He points the gun at me.

Rachel:Gally listen to me. You're not thinking straight.

My voice trembles. Everyone take a few steps back.

Rachel :You're not. And we can help you. Just put down the gun.

Gally:I belong to the maze. We all do.

Everyone yell his name as he shoots. Minho throws a spear to Gally and hit him near the heart. Gally falls on the ground and we all look at him.

Chuck:Guys..

We turn to Chuck and we see that he's shot in the chest. Thomas grabs him and places him on the ground. I sit next to Chuck. I put my hand on my mouth and I let tears fall.

Thomas:No no no. Look at me. Please Chuck, look at me alright?

Chuck looks at me.

Chuck:Thank you. All of you.

Then he let's out his lats breath and everyone start to cry.

Men walk in from the door and grab each one of us. Thomas is last. They put us in a helicopter and then it flies away.

Man:You kids are ok? Relax. You're safe now.

I look at him and then I look through the window. I look at the view, the sun and then I slowly close my eyes.
