The Death Cure

Rachel's POV

FLASHBACK
I sit on a chair studying at the plan to enter WCKD. Damien walks in but I keep looking at my papers.

Damien:Hey Rachel.

I respond to him with a cold "Hi". I look up and then to him.

Rachel:Where did you come from?

Damien :New Orleans. Your house.

Rachel:Weren't you worried that you'd find Cranks on your way here?

Damien:What are the cranks?

Rachel:They are infected people. Didn't you see any of them?

Damien:No. Infected? There is no virus in the environment.

Newt:Rachel. We're ready.

Rachel:Okay. Now excuse me but I have to destroy a city.

Damien:Rachel hang on. You can't care always about the others you have to worry about you sometimes.

Rachel:I stopped worrying about me a long time ago

I get up and walk away still thinking.

Present

I enter the main building of WCKD. After I get up some floors I see Ava in front of me. With my magic I hold her still.

Ava:So you remember.

Rachel: I couldn't understand it before. But now I can. This is all fake right? The city, the maze, the virus.

She nods.

Ava:The virus actually is not that fake. We invented a new virus where the Supernaturals would be tested. Whoever get infected turns into a crank. But your blood can save them. All of them. Even the ones who have already turned.

With that sentence I let her go. My eyes get watery.

Rachel:But How? I touched water several times but I didn't turn into a mermaid. How did you do that?

Ava: It was all a game of the mind

Rachel: So this is what this was for? A game? You think it's a game to play with other people's minds?

My last word is disturbed by a gun shot. Ava Paige falls on the ground and behind her stands Janson with a gun in his hands. I look shocked at Paige's dead body and then I feel a pain on my neck. Then everything gets dark.

I wake up on a hospital bed. I am tied up on it. I look around and I see Janson standing. He holds a needle.

Janson :You're awake.

I try to move but the ropes burn my skin.

Janson :You can't leave. The ropes have wolfsbane on them.

Rachel :Let me go.

Janson :You think I am that stupid to let you go?

He puts the needle in my hand and takes out some blood. He takes the needle out and shakes it.

Janson:Who would have thought that this blood is the cure to every disease?

He raises his right sleeve and a bite from a crank appears. He almost shuts the needle in his hand but a glass smashes on his head. He falls down. Thomas grabs the needle and hands it to Teresa. He unties my right hand but a sound stops him. It's Janson. He grabs Teresa and throws her away. Then he fights Thomas. I try to loose the rope but when I move it burns my hand. I look at them fighting and Teresa on the floor. My eyes flash purple and with a move of my hand I break the rope. I stand up but when I do I see Janson with a gun in his hands threatening Teresa.

Janson:Hand me the syringe.

Teresa:Thomas don't.

Thomas hesitates and then Janson shoots him on the leg. He falls down

Janson : I said give me the cure.

Rachel:Give me Teresa.

Janson laughs and my eyes flash purple again. I look behind him and I see a crank behind a glass wall. I close my eyes and when I open them I point my hands towards Janson screaming. My banshee scream works like a bullet and hits the glass since Janson avoided my scream on the last second.

Janson:You stupid girl. You missed.

Teresa comes and stands next to Thomas since Janson let her go when I screamed.

Rachel:Who said I did?

The glass wall starts cracking and a crank smashes it attacking Janson. Me and Teresa grab Thomas and run outside. We see that the witches destroy the city so we go to the roof. We look around and we see an aircraft with our friends in it.

Brenda:Come on!

We run to the edge. A flame which appears in front of us stops us. I let go of Thomas and I place my hands close to the fire. With a move of them the flame disappears. I grab Thomas again and we run to the aircraft. We throw him on the plane and then I jump. After I get on the aircraft a building collapses on the building that Teresa is standing. She looks at Thomas for a last time before she falls in the void.
