tw: angst, bad boy tyler, language"and y/n you are paired up with tyler." mrs. rose announced. i internally groaned. just my luck wasn't it?
tyler walked over to me, a cocky smirk on his face. he sat next to me and his smirk never left his face.
"looks like we're partners." he stated. i nodded.
"yep." i replied plainly. i didn't really want much to do with him. sure, he was gorgeous. i couldn't deny that, even if i wanted to. but i had seen tyler from the sidelines. he was cocky, arrogant, and always got into trouble. not to mention he was a huge fuck boy, which was the biggest red flag.
"so are we working on this at my house or yours? although, i cant promise you there will be much peace at mine. having three siblings...they like to annoy me." tyler asked me.
"we can work at mine. my parents are out of town and i don't have any siblings." i decided. tyler raised an eyebrow.
"okay then, gorgeous. your's it is."
i tried to ignore the butterflies that seemed to attack my stomach due to his words. nothing was going to happen with us. i always wanted to settle down for a long term relationship. that wasn't tyler's thing.
but i was gonna have to learn how
to deal with him. after all, we had two weeks to work on this project together.later on
"well, we're here." i announced, as tyler and i walked up to my house.
"nice house." he complimented.
"thanks." i replied. we walked up to the front door and i unlocked it. we went inside, and i walked us upstairs. i didn't really feel like showing him the whole house.
"here's my room. i'm gonna put on some music, because i study better with it. do you mind?" i said to tyler.
"i don't mind. just don't play any hip hop or country. then i might have to leave." he replied. i giggled a bit, as i didn't enjoy either of those either.
"did you just laugh? i've never heard you laugh before. it's pretty."
leave it to him to kill any chance of a friendship for us.
"uhm, thanks. i don't know what you think is going on but we're just doing the project."
tyler blushed out of embarrassment and rubbed the back of his neck. i assumed rejection didn't come to him often. or at all, really.
"i was just saying you're pretty, is that such a crime?" he asked me, his arrogantness showing. i shrugged.
"guess not. now come on, let's start the project." i replied. i put on some green day and got my binder out of my backpack. tyler did the same.
"boulevard of broken dreams? basic. let me see your phone." tyler said. i gave him my phone and he put on basket case. i couldn't help but smile, as this was coincidentally my favorite green day song.
"for one thing, boulevard only came on because i hit shuffle, and another, you listen to green day?" i asked him. he nodded.
"what'd you expect me to listen to? lil peep?" he replied. yes.
"well, maybe."
"never really got into that stuff. i much more prefer green day. now, i say we finally start this project."
we began the project and it all went smoothly. tyler was still flirty, of course, but he wasn't urging me to make out with him or anything like that. he was nice and he actually focused on the project.
