a/n: another bad boy tyler au! because why not :)

i waited in the library at one of the nearest tables to the door. i wasn't looking forward to this tutoring session, because i knew exactly who i was tutoring. and he was not going to be easy to work with.

"hey." i looked up and there he was. "you're my tutor right?"

"yep, that's me. i'm y/n." i replied, although he already knew that.

"i'm tyler. what are you even supposed to help me with?" tyler asked me.

"geometry. you're actually doing really good in english and history so we don't have to bother with those."

"that's because history and english actually teach me shit i need in the future. what job in the future is gonna make me measure shapes?"

he wasn't wrong.

"okay, fair enough." i said. "can you get out your geometry book?"

tyler went into his bag and grabbed his geometry workbook which was tattered to it's core. he slammed it on the table and then looked at me expectantly.

"what page?" he asked me.

"we'll start at 143. we'll see how much we can get done in an hour." i replied.

"oh i have a party in 45 minutes. can't i leave then?"

"we'll see how much we get done."

"fine."

when tyler actually focused on the math problems, he was able to actually start understanding them. usually the problem with the people i tutored was that they didn't pay attention in class, so their grades dropped. with tyler being popular and education not being his main priority, it made sense that he'd do better once he paid attention.

"i think we can stop for today. you're catching on quickly." i said after 40 minutes, closing my book.

"oh, for real?" he asked me. i nodded. "why don't i ever see you at the parties? i see you at school sometimes but that's it."

i laughed out loud. he had to have been being nice. i was not the party type.

"do i look like the party type to you?" i asked him. tyler shrugged.

"you're obviously dedicated to school but you seem nice. unlike some of those stuck up nerds that are rude to people they tutor."

"i take it i'm not your first tutor then?"

"nah, i quit on a bunch because they were assholes. at least you actually helped me understand."

"well, we should be able to get your grade up soon. we have tutoring sessions every friday for the next three months." i said with a smile.

"then i guess i'll see you friday. or around school." tyler said, slinging his backpack over his shoulder. i nodded.

"see ya." i replied, and we both parted ways.

two months later

within time tyler's grade raised easily. he wasn't that hard to work with and we even developed a friendship, even though we really didn't talk in school. but we did text.

tyler: gotta cancel my tutoring today. you're going to a party with me.

i scrunched my eyebrows at the message and laughed. i knew he was pulling my leg. he knew i didn't do parties.
