"are you sure that it's...safe to kill her?" i asked tyler one last time before going into the restaurant. i could hear him groan into the mic.

"yes, josh! it's fine. y/n thinks you're only taking her on a date. after that, you bring her back to her place and kill her. her father will be furious and it'll be just enough to get him to look for us. then we kill him and take the money. game over." tyler assured me. i frowned.

"okay. then i guess i should head in." i replied.

"you got this, brother! i'll be in your ear the whole time."

the truth of the matter was that i didn't want to do it anymore. i just didn't. before our band's downfall, tyler and i made it our goal to make sure people stayed alive because it was worth it. next thing you know, all our money is taken from us and we couldn't make music anymore.

and now we were assasins that killed rich people for their money.

that was never my plan. it made me sick. every time i took a life, i grew sick to my stomach. i wanted to stop, but i didn't want to abandon tyler. he was like a brother to me in so many ways.

"josh, it's time. go in." i heard tyler say. i unbuckled my seat belt and got out of my car. i straightened out my tux and fixed my gelled curly brown hair.

i was ready.

i made my way inside the fancy restaurant and walked up to the receptionist.

"reservation for fior." i said. i had used a different last name, because if the word got out that y/n l/n was murdered, they would go for the person she was with that night.

"of course. we just seated the miss. follow me, please." the receptionist told me. she grabbed a menu and walked me towards a discrete table in the back. i could already see y/n, her elegant body seated wearing a long black dress with her h/c hair in a braided bun.

she was beautiful.

"hello, josh. it's a pleasure to finally meet you." y/n greeted me when she saw me. she stood up and pulled me into a short hug before the two of us sat down.

"good evening, miss l/n. you look gorgeous tonight." i told her, confidently. a slight blush filled y/n's cheeks. not in an overly noticeable way. it complimented her perfectly.

"as her about her money!" i heard tyler say into the microphone. i nearly jumped, forgetting that i had the earpiece in in the first place.

"so, josh, what do you do for a living?" y/n asked me. i chuckled slightly.

"i used to be in a band. twenty one pilots. but now i just kinda hang on the low, you know?" i told her. she nodded. "what about you?"

"well, i don't have a job. i've never really had a need for it. my father has money, and he always makes sure that i have what i need." she informed me. i must have made a face when she looked down embarrassedly. "trust me, i'm not cocky about the money. i try to think about it as his money and not mine."

"but enough about money, what about your family, josh? do they live around here?"

"my family lives in columbus, ohio. after my band stopped making music i decided to move to vegas." i informed her. why was i telling her so much information about myself? i never did that usually. she just had a way of making me speak. she made me feel safe, in a way. i couldn't explain it.

i just hoped it wouldn't make killing her any more difficult.

y/n and i continued talking as tyler urged me to finish it up. i actually enjoyed talking to her. she didn't go on and on about her money, unlike some of mine and tyler's victims.
