"y/n i need you to help me clean up the house please." my mom told me.

"okay. why, are you having someone over?" i asked her. she nodded.

"i told my friends kelly and chris that their son, tyler, could stay with us for a month while they go to hawaii for vacation. they didn't say why they wouldn't take him with them but i didn't ask because it's none of my business. but anyways, he'll be here in a half hour." my mom informed me. i nodded slowly as i wondered why she didn't even ask me. it was just the two of us so she could have at least as me if i was okay with her having some random kid stay with us, right? i just shook it off.

"oh okay. how old is he?" i asked.

"he's 15 like you. he goes to your school, his last name is joseph."

i immediately knew who she was talking about. tyler joseph was in a few of my classes. he was a really kind kid and he was extremely cute. i had a small crush on him to say the least.

"i know him. he's a really nice guy."

"well he'll be here soon so please help me clean up."

i helped my mom clean up the house. we swept and dusted and vacuumed. i put sheets on the bed in the spare room across from my bedroom so tyler had a place to sleep.

as i wiped the counter the doorbell rang.

i went to open the front door and i was greeted by a blonde lady who i assumed to be tyler's mother and tyler.

"hello, you must be y/n. is your mom here?" the lady asked me. just then i felt a hand on my back and my mom went in front of me.

"hi, kelly! and hello tyler, i'm y/m/n. you can follow y/n and she'll show you the guest room." my mom said to tyler and kelly. i walked towards the spare room and tyler followed behind me.

"here's the guest room. my room is right across the hall if you need anything. someone to talk to, if you're bored, or you have a question. i'm always around." i told tyler. he nodded and gave me a weak smile.

"thank you. it's y/n right? we have a few classes together?" tyler asked me. i nodded.

"yeah, we have chemistry, global history, pe, and art together." i told him. he smiled.

"i remember you. thank God i have a familiar face around here. i was scared i'd be stuck with a crazy old lady." he chuckled. i giggled.

"well, you weren't far off. you're stuck with a crazy lady and her kid."

"i think i can work with that."

we both chuckled a little bit before my mom came in.

"hey kids, i was wondering what you wanted for dinner? i can go pick something up if you'd like." my mom asked us.

"taco bell?" tyler and i requested at the same time. my mom chuckled.

"taco bell it is. i'll be right back, you two stay out of trouble." she told us. we nodded and she left.

"so what do you do, y/n?" tyler asked me. i raised an eyebrow.

"what do you mean?" i asked him. he chuckled.

"for fun, i mean." he replied.

"oh i do cheer. i have a competition in a couple weeks, you should come to it."

"of course i will. i mean, i'll still be staying with you in a couple of weeks anyways."

my heart skipped a beat.
