a/n: this one goes from 0-100 mega quick.

tyler: meet me @ my locker after class. i miss u a lot.

i chuckled at my boyfriend's message and shook my head as i replied.

you: you saw me last night. remember that make out session? you can't possibly miss me already.

tyler: i can, and i do. so come to my locker?

you: fine. you're lucky i love you.

tyler: luv u 2 <3

i sighed and put my phone face down on my desk. the bell was about to ring so i started to clean up my things. i zipped everything in my bookbag and stood up.

something felt so off. everything was fine but nothing felt fine. i couldn't put a finger on why. it just felt like there was something very very wrong.

i ignored the feeling as the bell rang and i went to find tyler's locker. i went upstairs and went to locker A78 and there tyler was. when he saw me he went in for a kiss and i dodged it.

"let's keep the pda down before we get a detention. fair?" i giggled. tyler sighed.

"i love you too." he replied, sarcastically.

"hey! i still love you if i don't kiss you." i reminded him.

"sure, sur-"

*gunshots*

"ow!" i yelled as something sharp grazed my leg. tyler opened his locker and yanked us in.

"what the hell?! what the hell ty?!" i cried. i heard more gunshots and tyler held me close to him. he smoothed my hair as i started to cry.

"shh, it's gonna be okay. i got you, baby. we're gonna be okay." he assured me, his voice shaky.

"the shooter got my leg." i whispered.

"as soon as we get out of here we'll get it checked out. for now i have to make sure we stay safe."

"i'm scared, ty. i knew something felt wrong."

"we're gonna be okay. everything is going to be alright. just stay quiet, please."

i heard someone scream and i flinched. i couldn't really jump because of the tight space. our school had never had a shooter threat. i was terrified.

"i don't wanna die." i said. tyler held me tighter.

"you're not dying today honey. not on my watch. i love you." he told me. i nodded.

"i love you more." i replied.

we stayed like that for what felt like forever. eventually someone opened the locker and i squeezed tyler, thinking it was the shooter. but it was just a police officer.

"are the two of you alright?" he asked. tyler and i nodded in shock and the police officer helped us out of the tight locker. the halls were filled with chaos, people scattered everywhere.

"are either of you hurt? we were informed that this was one of the main attack areas." the police officer asked.

"y-yeah, my leg hurts." i admitted.

"we're going to have a medic look at that. follow me."

we followed the police officer and he brought me to a medic. the medic rolled up my pant leg and looked at my wound. it wasn't huge but it was bloody.

"there's no bullet in there so it must've just grazed your leg. i can clean it out in no time." the medic told me. she began to clean out the wound and tyler took my hand.

"you're so brave, y/n. did you know that?" he told me. i smiled and squeezed his hand as the medic put some peroxide or rubbing alcohol in my wound.

"you're even braver. you're the one who shoved us in the locker. you might've saved our lives."

"well, i can't marry you someday if we're dead."

i smiled lightly. the medic wrapped a bandage around my leg and then pushed down my pant leg.

"you should call your parents. the school is now being evacuated." the police officer from earlier told tyler and i. we nodded and grabbed our phones.

"i'd like to hang out but i have to find zack and make sure he's alright. he's just a scrawny freshman." tyler told me. i nodded understandingly.

"i completely understand. and i gotta call my mom and tell her about my leg and everything." i replied. tyler nodded.

"good idea." he then kissed my cheek. "i love you you much, y/n."

"i love you too, tyler."

i reached for my phone and dialed my mom's number.

what a school day.
