It had been almost two weeks since my unwanted and unexpected wedding.

Every morning I woke up at six. Yes, I was actually trying to work hard. I prepared breakfast for everyone and coffee for Danish.

Somehow he had developed this routine of having it made by me only.

Not that I was doing it out of affection or anything. But since he was also doing his part in front of the family, pretending that our marriage was perfectly normal and peaceful, making one cup of coffee didn't feel like something worth creating a scene over.

After that, I got ready for work.

I would come back by six in the evening, prepare tea and evening snacks again for everyone, then help the workers with cooking dinner and try to learn a few things myself.

Later everyone gathered together.

We talked a little during dinner, about random things here and there, and then eventually went off to bed.

Things were going smoothly.
Well sort of.

But then again, it was my life. And without some kind of ruckus, it would probably feel incomplete.

I was sitting in the room, reading scripts for my role- which luckily I had managed to get back, when I heard the doorknob twist.

I turned and saw Danish walking inside.

Hair still wet, strands falling carelessly against his forehead and, he was wearing a full-sleeved grey tee with black pants.

He might be a annoying but the man was undeniably handsome.

'Diet Mountain Dew' vibes, for real.

I followed his gaze, fixed at the huge picture I had hung on the wall, right where I had found an empty space earlier.

I had expected him instantly ask me to take it down.

But he didn't say anything.

He kept staring at it for a moment, before finally turning towards me, his expressions unreadable.

The silence felt uncomfortable, so I had to break it.

" You want something?" I asked.

He turned fully towards me.

" Mom is calling you downstairs, she's going for shopping, " he said.

I nodded, keeping my scripts away.

" and I want you to buy a decent dress for the charity event," he added," You're attending with me tomorrow, "

The way he said it, more like a command than request.

I rolled my eyes.

Him and his orders.

" Who said I'll go with you? " I questioned him sternly.

He ran a hand through his hair. Instead of answering, he simply smirked at my question, completely ignoring it, and walked toward the mirror.

Of course I'd go with him.

It would be stupid of me to openly go against him.

I stood up, placing my scripts somewhere safe, and tied my hair into a loose bun.

"You're going downstairs like this?" he asked, his voice flat.

He gestured toward me, his eyes briefly scanning from head to toe.

I instantly felt uncomfortable under the intensity of his gaze as it moved from my sleeveless tee to my shorts which, I had to admit, were probably a little too short and then to my bare legs.
