Kashvi-

"Awwww! My baby- come to your maasi!"

I practically gasped, immediately scooping little Alyshkha into my arms the second I saw her tiny waddling form.

God.

This child was criminally adorable.

She was dressed in the softest pink cotton frock, her baby hair all messy and wild like she had personally fought with gravity before entering the room and that only made her cuter.

"My adorable munchkin," I whispered dramatically, kissing her chubby cheek before twirling her gently in my arms.

Her tiny laugh echoed through the living room.

My heart swiveled in happiness.

Because the smile this little girl gave me?

Illegal.

"My God, look at youuu," I cooed, grinning so hard my cheeks physically hurt.

We were currently at the Kaushik Mansion because apparently, according to my husband, "inviting people properly" was a thing.

I had very logically suggested-

"I can literally call Deepti."

But no, Mr. Danish Singhania had principles.

So here we were.

Personally delivering wedding invitations like some royal diplomatic mission.

"Da...daa,"

The tiny traitor in my arms suddenly perked up, her little hands immediately stretching past me.

I turned and there walked in Anuj Jiju.

The second Alyshkha spotted him, her entire loyalty shifted.

Excuse me? Rude.

"What a day.... you are actually here."

He looked directly at Danish while walking toward us, but his daughter- Madam was already half-launching herself toward him.

"Excuse me!" I protested, clutching her tighter. "Let her stay with me!"

Alyshkha, in return, whined dramatically and flailed toward her father.

I narrowed my eyes.

"Traitor."

Anuj Jiju laughed, smoothly taking her from my arms like this betrayal was acceptable.

"She won't let you sit peacefully. Play with her when I'll be gone."

And then, he casually rubbed his nose against her tiny one while she giggled like the happiest baby alive.

My heart melted.

Would Danish and I ever get to experience this?

I physically paused.

My eyes shifted toward my husband.

And for the first time since we entered, Danish wasn't looking at anyone else.

He was staring at Anuj Jiju and Alyshkha.

As if this entire soft father-daughter moment had genuinely caught him off guard.

Like he was witnessing a version of his friend he had never fully processed before.

"Teri yeh side mujhse hajam nahi ho rahi."

I blinked.

Wait. WHAT?
