Kashvi-
I was exhausted.
Not the normal "I need a nap" kind. The deeply spiritual kind.
The kind where your soul quietly begs for a duvet, silence, and absolutely no human interaction.
All I wanted was to reach home, collapse dramatically, and disappear into my blanket forever.
But apparently, life had other plans.
Danish stopped the car in the parking lot and just waited.
Meanwhile, I moved like a sloth fighting gravity.
First my bag, then my seatbelt, then basic motor function.
By the time I finally turned toward him, he was already looking at me with that exact expression - what am I supposed to do with this woman?
Honestly? Valid.
"Danish-"
THUMP.
I screamed, like genuinely screamed.
Two sudden hands slammed against my window so aggressively that my soul practically left my body.
I shrieked and immediately launched myself toward Danish, clutching him like survival depended on it.
My heartbeat skyrocketed.
"Oh my God-"
I squeezed my eyes shut, already preparing for zombie apocalypse, paranormal attack, or death.
"This brat," Danish muttered.
His hand instantly came to my head, stroking it once.
Grounding.
I slowly opened one eye, then the other.
And there laughing like the menace he was stood Sam.
Gadha.
His sling was gone now, though his arm was still wrapped in a blue bandage, and somehow that only made him look more committed to chaos.
I unlocked the door so fast it was almost violent.
"You are LAUGHING?" I snapped, glaring at him. "You dumbass! I thought some zombie attacked me!"
He doubled over. Actually doubled over.
"Sorry, sorry!" he wheezed. "Where's bhai? We were waiting!"
We?
Who exactly was we?
I narrowed my eyes suspiciously.
Danish sighed, running a hand through his hair.
"Kashvi, you go inside," he said, already sounding tired. "I'll deal with him."
That sentence alone should've warned me.
But no.
Sleep deprivation had apparently killed my survival instincts.
So I ignored whatever suspicious brotherly side-conversation was happening behind me and walked inside, only to immediately stop.
Chaos. Pure domestic chaos.
Servants were running everywhere. My parents looked unusually serious.
Rushant Bhaiya and Palak Bhabhi were standing together looking suspiciously glowy while Ree, that certified nuisance, was clicking their pictures like paparazzi.
"What's happening?"
No one answered.
"What's happening?" I repeated louder.
