There were very few things in life that made me lose focus.
And right now, Kashvi walking away was one of them.
I let Rahul finish, but my eyes had already drifted past him, landing exactly where she stood or where she was standing.
Now she was leaving.
Of course she was.
She always chose distance when things got even slightly real.
Coward.
My jaw tightened.
"-we don't have time to ignore this, D," Rahul's voice cut through, low and urgent.
"I'm not ignoring it," I replied flatly.
But I wasn't fully present either.
Because a part of me-an annoyingly persistent part-was tracking her every step as she moved away from us.
The half-dried mehendi, careful steps and that slight stiffness in her shoulders.
She was overthinking again.

Kashvi
After changing into my night clothes, I sat at the edge of the bed, scrolling aimlessly through movie options.
Nothing felt right.
My mehendi had finally dried, the deep color settling into my skin, but sleep had already come and gone earlier. Now, I was just awake.
Restless.
My phone rang.
Abir.
After so long.
A small smile formed on my lips as I picked up and walked toward the balcony.
"Hey," I said softly.
"Hi, Kashvi! How are you?" His voice carried the same warmth, the same easy excitement.
"Just stuck at a family function," I replied, leaning against the railing. "What about you?"
There was a pause-like he was waiting for this moment.
"I'm moving to Mumbai."
I straightened instantly.
"What?"
"I got through," he said, and I could hear the grin in his voice. "Finally leaving Mini Mumbai."
A laugh escaped me.
Indore.
We used to call it that all the time.
But Mumbai was different.
Bigger, faster and full of opportunities.
A city where people like us either built something or got lost trying.
"I'm so proud of you, Abir," I said, and I meant every word.
"And I'm stealing you with me," he added casually.
I smiled faintly, my gaze drifting to the night sky.
If only it were that simple.
"You already know my story," I murmured.
He didn't let it go.
"Kashvi, how long are you going to stay like this?"
My fingers tightened slightly around the railing.
"You need to take a step. Theatre is just the beginning-you can do so much more. Modeling, auditions, TV, you dance, for God's sake. You have talent. Don't bury it."
