The first time I had stepped inside Singhania Groups & Co. was the day I had been forcefully engaged.

Back then, I still remembered the receptionist's eyes scanning me, quietly dismissive, almost as if I did not belong in a place built of silence and power.

But today?

Today was different.

The moment I stepped through those same doors, I could feel the shift.

Few heads turned in my direction.

Some in curiosity while some in recognition.

Beside me, Rahul walked with his usual composed expression, acknowledging greetings with nothing more than brief nods as employees straightened instantly.

If someone did not know him, they would assume he was all discipline and maturity.

I almost laughed.

I knew exactly how insufferably dramatic he actually was.

He stopped outside a sleek glass-walled office and motioned toward it.

"This is your office, buttercup," he said, his tone unusually professional despite the nickname. "If you need anything, one call."

I nodded, suddenly too aware of the reality settling in.

My office.

Before I could overthink it, he gave me one final reassuring glance and walked away.

I took a breath before stepping inside.

A woman, in her late twenties, looked up from her desk.

"Ms. Kashvi?" she asked.

I nodded.

She was polished in a way that screamed capability-blue silk blouse, black fitted skirt, heels clicking sharply against the floor as she approached.

"I'm Natasha," she introduced, offering me a professional smile. "I've been here for six years, and I'll admit, it was a surprise when I was assigned as your manager."

I blinked.

"Why?"

Her smile turned slightly awkward, though not insulting.

Gazab.

"I usually handle people with years of experience," she explained, adjusting a curl behind her ear. "But from what I've been told you're not someone to underestimate either."

That was unexpectedly comforting.

"You're more into theatre and acting, right?"

I nodded, sitting a little straighter.

"I'm modelling for the first time," I admitted. "and honestly, I'm still nervous."

She smiled politely.

"Good. Nervous means you care." She slid a planner toward me. "And don't worry. You have an entire team for a reason. You won't be doing this alone."

For the first time since entering, the knot in my stomach loosened.
