A dramatic chapter ahead.

Kashvi-

"Yes maa, I know everything. I've grown up watching you do all this," I sighed, placing my phone on the edge of the table as I ironed the clothes.

Mom was giving me Karwa Chauth instructions for the second time.

"Fine then. I'll hang up. Don't call me later asking questions," she snapped before disconnecting the call.

I rolled my eyes slightly, folding the clothes and arranging them neatly in the closet.

Walking downstairs, I found mom already busy giving instructions to the decorators.

Ever since I came here, I had honestly lost count of how many times this house had been decorated.

Different occasions, different themes.

At this point, even my college didn't celebrate this many festivals.

"Kashvi, there's someone outside to meet you," mom informed without looking at me.

Frowning, I walked outside.

Who could it be?

"Ma'am, this courier came for you from your previous company. The address mentioned was your office, so it got redirected here," one of the guards explained while handling the package.

I paused for a second.

That was unexpected.

"Should I check it?" Savio asked.

I quickly glanced at the sender details.

Everything looked normal.

"No, I've got this," I said, taking the box from him and heading inside, still something felt off.

I wasn't expecting anything.

No message or mail.

Nothing.

Maybe I missed it.

I grabbed a cutter and sliced open the package.

Inside, a round container.
Weird.

I picked it up and slowly unlocked the lid.

The smell hit me instantly, rotten and unbearable.

My stomach twisted.

"What the hell-!"

I shrieked, immediately placing the container back on the carton as I stepped away.

My hand flew to my mouth, trying to control the nausea rising inside me.

"Ma'am!"

Savio and Jay rushed in the moment they heard me.

Mom followed behind them, frowning.

"What's this smell?"

"Don't come closer," I said quickly, stopping her midway.

I didn't want her to see what was inside.

Her expression changed instantly.

She understood.

"Call your boss," she instructed Savio calmly.

Thankfully, the younger ones weren't home.

If Sam or Advika had opened this-I didn't even want to think about it.

I saw Danish stepping down the stairs quickly, his gaze shifting from us to the box placed in the middle of the room.

He approached it slowly, carefully and then peeped inside.
