The surroundings buzzed with the crackling sounds of fireworks, the sky painted in bursts of color while warm golden lights wrapped the night in a festive glow.
Inside the Singhania mansion, the family stood together for the Laxmi pooja.
Voices blended in rhythm of soft chants, the ringing of bells, the flicker of diyas dancing in the air.
Yet, devotion looked different on every face.
Sam stood in his maroon mirror-work kurta, hands joined but his eyes? Constantly flicking toward the prasad plate.
And his bike keys.
His leg bounced impatiently.
One thought: finish this and run.
Rahul stood beside Divya, calm, composed- singing along properly, eyes on the idol. For him, this was everything.
He considered them his everything.
Divya and Advika stood together, whisper-reading the lyrics off a phone screen, occasionally going off-beat and suppressing laughter.
In the center stood them -Kashvi and Danish.
Holding the aarti thaal together.
Kashvi's eyes were closed, her face serene, devotion visible in every movement and, Danish wasn't looking at the deity.
He was looking at her.
Steady. Quiet. Certain.
If she believed in God-
he believed in her.
And if there was a God....then this woman deserved everything good in the world.
And he would make sure she got it.
The pooja ended.
Prasad was distributed. Blessings exchanged.
And then it happened.
Chaos.
Everyone rushed outside like children set free.
The garden lit up with sparklers, laughter, and loud teasing.
Dadaji sat to the side, smiling faintly, watching his chaos-loving family.
Inside, guests flowed in and out.
Outside, it was pure madness.
Sam was already halfway to his bike, excited to leave.
"Give me the keys."
He froze.
Slowly turned.
Danish stood there. Calm. Firm.
Sam's face dropped instantly.
"Bhai.... not today, please."
No response.
Just a hand extended.
Sam sighed, defeated.
He couldn't go against his elder brother.
He handed over the keys and walked back-quiet.
Too quiet.
Kashvi noticed.
Everyone did.
But no one said anything.
Meanwhile, Rahul spotted his next victim. He grabbed the green bomb.
