Author's POV-
Kashvi was still deep in sleep when the sharp ringing of her phone broke through her peace.
She groaned softly, turning to the other side, blindly reaching for it.
"Hello," she mumbled, voice thick with sleep, eyes barely open.
"You're still sleeping, Kashvi? What is this? Don't your in-laws say anything?" her mother's voice rang loudly through the speaker.
Kashvi's eyes snapped open.
She pushed herself up against the headboard, running a hand through her messy hair.
"They have better things to do," she muttered, unimpressed.
"You should learn something from Deepti. She's here with her baby, managing everything. And you, at least come today for Diwali."
Kashvi stared blankly at the ceiling, her mood sinking with every word.
"Why? My mother-in-law won't allow me," she lied effortlessly, hoping it would end the conversation.
"Then I'll talk to her. You just come. I have sweets and gifts to send with you- what will your in-laws think otherwise?"
Kashvi let out a dry breath.
"By 10. Be here."
And the call ended.
Kashvi flopped back dramatically, burying her face into the pillow.
"Perfect," she groaned. "Just what I needed."
Her eyes flickered to the clock.
6:30 AM.
"Who even wakes up at this hour?" she complained, voice muffled.
"People who don't sleep like a panda and waste half the day," Danish's voice came calmly from the door.
She peeked from the blanket just enough to glare at him.
"Don't start. I'm already in a bad mood."
Danish walked in, fresh out of the shower, rolling his shoulders slightly, a towel still in his hand as he ran it through his damp hair.
He didn't respond.
Just watched her for a second, taking in the way she sulked into the blanket like a child forced to wake up.
Then he turned toward the closet.
His mind, however, was elsewhere.
The past month had been chaos.
Work. Pressure. That incident. Her fear.
Everything overlapping and now this was the final stretch.
One last product launch.
One crucial investor meeting.
After that, he was done.
He had already decided. He was taking her away, far from all of this.Somewhere quiet and safe.
Somewhere, he could fix what he had unknowingly shaken and this time, he wouldn't make mistakes.
By the time he stepped out, fully dressed, adjusting his tie, his eyes instinctively moved toward her.
And he paused.
Kashvi stood near the mirror.
Draped in a soft green saree with a copper-gold border.
