Chapter 3

I was sitting at my desk, going through a script when the door opened and Ree walked inside.

I gave her a brief smile and closed the file.

" Di , Vinay bhaiya is waiting downstairs, we have to go to shopping mall," I frowned at the sudden information.

" Why are we going to the mall?" I asked.

" To buy clothes for groom's siblings,"

I slowly turned around to find bade papa standing there, looking at me dead serious.

"According to rituals,we have to send them clothes."

"Rushant is out of town for business, and Vikram and I have a meeting. So Vinay will accompany you," he said and I nodded positively.

I didn't even dare look into his eyes. Even though I didn't like him, I was still scared of him.

I got ready quickly, grabbed my scarf and walked out with Ree.

Vinay stood there quitely.

My best friend, to be honest.
We grew up together, went to the same school, and then same college.

He was my cousin from badi maa's side . He was a family member. Otherwise bade papa wouldn't allow us to go out so easily.

We walked to his blue Hondaa City, settled in and finally drove to the mall.

" Di , atleast we got out of that house!" Ree said happily.

Yeah for her it was a big deal. All she did was go to college, then come back that too with Ru Bhaiya. No freedom at all.

" We're free from Hitler today!" he said .

And that lightened up my mood so much.

We were in the elevator when Vinay looked at me , a sad smile on his face.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

He just sighed," You're handling it well," he said.

I smiled at this.

"Shaadi ho rhi na meri, ab rone baithungi toh vidaaii ke liye aansu nhi bachenge,"
( I'm getting married, and if I cried about it, no tears would be left for farewell)

I knew what he thought. From the start, I had felt this marriage would ruin me.
But crying or complaining, wont change anything. So I accepted it.

We walked out to the store.

" Di, let's look at that section ," she suggested and we nodded.

For the next whole hour, we kept going through different clothes. Whenever Vinay and I agreed on something, he sent it's pics to badi maa for approval.

When we were done, Vinay and Reesha decided to go to the gaming arena to play, while I decided to go to another shop to look at decor items.

Vinay pulled me in a side hug ," We'll be back in a few minutes until then, just handle this please," he said politely, handing me all the bags, earning a playful glare from me .

He pulled my cheek and laughed," Just go and sit somewhere,"

I would have hit him on the head if my hands weren't full of bags .

I walked around the corner and bumped into someone,causing few bag to fall.

" I am so sorry," I apologized and was about to pick up my stuff when a high pitched voice boomed in my ears.
