You are being warned already. Things in the upcoming chapters will get more mature.

Kashvi-

I felt like literal sunshine as I twirled around the house in my yellow anarkali, my anklets chiming softly with every step.

Mom had called me early morning,

I was a maasi now.

Deepti had given birth to a baby girl.

No matter what equation I shared with her but this?

This made me happy, genuinely.

Anuj jiju might be on the enemy list,

But that little baby?

She was mine.

My niece.

And I was already planning how to spoil her.

I turned around, smiling to myself and walked straight into a wall.

A very solid, very familiar wall.

“Careful,” Danish’s voice came, steady as he held me by my arms,

“Or are you planning to walk into everything today?”

I looked up at him, grinning.

“Danish! You’re a maasaji now!”

He frowned.

“I’m-  what?”

I facepalmed dramatically.

“You have a niece now. Deepti delivered a baby girl,” I said excitedly,
“I’m going to meet them in the afternoon.”

He gave me a look.

“You’re reacting like it’s your child.”

I glared at him.

“And you’ll react worse when it is your child-”

I froze.

He didn’t, his gaze sharpened.

I cleared my throat instantly, stepping back.

“Anyway, I have work,” I rushed out and practically ran from there, straight into the kitchen.

I grabbed a glass of water and gulped it down.

Smooth, Kashvi. Very smooth.

“Idiot,” I muttered to myself, definitely Sam’s influence.

I touched my cheeks, so warm.

Great.

Shaking my head, I walked toward Mom’s room and stopped.

“What is this?”

Her room looked like a full-fledged saree exhibition.

Colors everywhere, fabrics everywhere.

Chaos everywhere.

Excuse me? Bed kaha gaya ? Kahee dikh nhi raha? Sareeyo ke neeche dab gaya shayad.

“Don’t even ask,” Mom said dramatically, hands on her hips,
“I’m done with this designer.”

I blinked.

There were at least fifty sarees on her bed.

Minimum, and the floor had the same.

“You didn’t like even one?”

She sat on the bed, defeated.

“Not one.”

I pressed my palm to my chest.
