Kashvi-
I woke up to the sterile white ceiling above me, my breathing uneven as a sharp throbbing pain shot through my head.
A hiss escaped my lips the moment I tried to sit up.
Bad idea.
The dizziness hit almost instantly, my fingers flying to my temple before my gaze dropped to the IV attached to my hand.
Hospital. Yeah.
The room blurred for a second before panic almost clawed its way up my throat-
"Bhabhi?"
Sam.
The familiarity of his voice grounded me faster than anything else.
I looked his way to find him already standing from the couch, concern written all over his face.
"Are you okay? Should I call the doctor? Or bhai?" he asked quickly, moving toward me before I could answer.
He adjusted my pillow carefully, helping me sit back without worsening the pain.
"My head hurts, Sam," I whispered, my voice embarrassingly weak as I pressed my fingers to my temple.
Every part of my body felt heavy. Exhausted.
"Wait."
His tone turned unusually serious.
He immediately pressed the emergency button near the bed before dialing someone on his phone.
And within less than a minute, the room door unlocked.
Doctors entered first.
Then him.
And somehow, despite the pain, despite the trauma, despite everything, the second my eyes landed on Danish, something inside me calmed.
He was still wearing the same clothes from before.
His hair slightly disheveled. Sleeves folded. Jaw tight.
Like he hadn't left.
Like maybe he actually hadn't.
"What's the update?" one of the doctors asked, already checking my vitals.
"Her head hurts," Sam answered before I could.
I barely noticed Rahul beside him until both he and Sam quietly stepped back.
Danish moved with that same controlled authority that somehow made everyone naturally make space for him.
He stood beside me while the doctors did their work, his silence somehow louder than everyone else's voices combined.
I watched him through half-lidded, exhausted eyes.
His expression?
Blank.
Too blank.
The kind that said whatever was happening behind that face would terrify someone else.
After a brief checkup, the doctors injected something into my IV.
Relief slowly started sinking through my body.
