Kashvi-
I looked at him as he lay still on the bed.
The doctor had just left after checking him- high fever, low blood pressure.
Exhaustion, he said. Of course.
This is what happens when you think you're invincible.
"Bhai will be fine," Sam said softly, leading Mom out of the room. She looked shaken.
Once everyone left, the room fell quiet again.
I sat on the edge of the bed, my eyes drifting back to him.
His hair fell over his forehead, slightly messy. His face looked different like this.
He looked less intimidating.
I frowned.
"Renowned dumbass," I muttered under my breath.
My hand moved before I could think, brushing his hair back slightly.
His skin was still warm.
I got up, grabbed a cloth, dipped it in water, and placed it gently on his forehead.
Maa used to do this when I had fever.
The memory came and went just as quickly.
I exhaled slowly.
I had panicked more than I should have.
The moment he collapsed, everything just, stopped making sense.
I shook my head slightly, as if brushing the thought away.
"It's nothing," I whispered to myself.
Just a situation. That's it.
My fingers moved absentmindedly through his hair again.
"I don't like this version of you," I murmured.
No reaction. Of course.
I leaned back slightly, adjusting the cloth again before sitting beside him.
For a moment,I just stayed there.

Morning
When I woke up, he was gone.
I stared at the empty side of the bed.
Of course he was.
Not even well enough and still at work.
Workaholic or maybe avoiding me at every instance.
I scoffed at my own thought and got up.
"Bhabhi! I got us tickets for the latest movie!"
Sam barged in, full energy as usual.
I smiled despite myself.
"Not today, Sam," I said, trying to fix my hair quickly. "I'm already late."
"We can postpone," he insisted. "I want to go with you."
I laughed softly. "Drama."
He grinned.
"College?" I asked.
"Vacation," he replied lazily.
I shook my head. "You're hopeless."
"Only for you," he shot back.
Before I could respond,
"Bhabhi ka paltu kutta."
I didn't even turn.
Advika.
"At least I'm loyal," Sam muttered, pulling me away before I could react.
I sighed.
Same drama. Different day.
