RIKER

"Hey, Riker."

I growl and burry my head in my pillow. I eventually look up with eyes still half closed though, when the person shaking my shoulder intensify her movements. Ross is sat on my bunk bed, and smiles brightly at me.

"Wake up you sleep head." Ross pouts when he notes I'm far from budging.

"I'm up, I'm up..."

"Rocky and I are ready to go you know?" Ross informs me. It causes me to go out of my hidden place.

"You are?"

"Yeah. You looked so peaceful we didn't feel like waking you up." My little brother checks the watch at his wrist." But it's getting late now."

They guessed right. For once, I haven't dreamt about Dad's death, or my brothers getting harmed, and I haven't been chased after by some Infecteds. It's so rare now to have great nights, that I make the most of them when it happens, and I'm grateful my brothers let me.

"Gimme 5 minutes, okay?" I say as I sit at the edge of my bed. Ross smiles as an answer, and gets out of the bedroom, to join Rocky probably.

I rub my face one last time, to sweep the tiredness once for all, and stand up. I get ready quickly, slipping on pants and a t-shirt at random to not make my brothers wait too much. I then make for the little entrance, where my brothers are patiently waiting for me.

"Sorry I took long." I excuse myself for no particular reason, as I pick up the backpack they packed for me, and place it over my shoulders.

"It's fine." Rocky climbs up the few stairs first to open the bunker, followed by Ross. I frown a little before joining them.

I didn't miss the huge rings under Rocky's eyes. I don't know for how long he haven't been sleeping, but it's been probably a few days, which isn't good at all. I saw him doing some little naps from time to time, but he doesn't seem to be aware it's not enough. How can you be aware outside and fight when you lack of tiredness? I let my brothers goes forward as I shut and barricades the bunker behind us.

We start, and it's when we're out of the avenue I decide to talk with Rocky, before some Infecteds could surprise us. They always shows up a bit after we go out. Rocky is a little backward, while Ross and I walk side by side in silence, guns (well knife for Ross) on our hands. I tap his shoulder to get his attention.

"Hey Ross, could you do me a favor?"

"What kind?" He frowns like I am going to ask him something he won't appreciate.

"Could you, you know, walk a bit faster? I need to talk to Rocky in private, we'll stay behind."

"What are you gonna talk about?"

"It's none of your business. Speed up, we'll join you."

He grumbles a bit, but eventually obeys. He starts walking faster, leaving some space between him, and Rocky and I. As for me I stop, satisfied, and turn around to head for Rocky. His face distorts when he sees me alone, Ross a bit further. He totally knows I'm going to lecture him.

"Oh no..."

"Rocky we need to talk." I say in a serious tone once I stand next to him.
