Morning comes, bringing a new beautiful day. Alcina slowly wakes from her peaceful slumber. After days of restless worry, she had finally managed to get the sleep her body and mind so desperately craved. She lets out a pleased hum as she feels the warmth of the sun trickle through the windows, embracing her resting body. She reaches out to you, intending on pulling you into her. Her hand pats the empty space where your body should have been. She opens her eyes, confused by your absence. Usually, Alcina was the first to rise in the morning. You often soaked up as much of your slumbering dreams as you could. Alcina sits up in bed, glancing around the room in search of you. You are nowhere to be seen. She furrows her brows, unsure of where you could be. She pulls the covers from her body and leaves the comfort of her bed. She grabs her robe from the wardrobe and secures it around her body.

"Y/N?" She calls out. No response.

Thinking you could have moved to your own bed in the middle of the night, Alcina goes to your room. She pushes the door open to look inside. You're not there. Pushing back her worry, she checks the bathroom next. Empty. Alcina ponders the possibilities of where you could be. She decides to leave the chambers, checking the other rooms that you often frequent. She strolls down the hall to her study. You're not there either. Next, she check the library. The only body is that of a maid who is dusting the shelves. Anxiety growing inside her, Alcina quickly paces to your gallery. Her urgent footsteps pound against the floor. The door swings open revealing your sanctuary, but it too is empty. Despite knowing it's locked, Alcina checks the lounge as well. Not able to find you, her heart begins to race. She frantically searches every room she can think of. Her urgency and fear only increases when you're nowhere to be found. She calls out to you, hoping you'll respond. Alcina races to the castle entrance. Her last stitch effort to find you would be to search the castle grounds. As her hand grasps the handle of the door, her daughters call out to her.

"Mother!" Bela calls, panic filling her voice.

Bela runs to her mother, almost crashing into her as Alcina turns to face her. Cassandra and Daniela follow. Their faces are filled with an overpowering worry. Bela's eyes meet Alcina's.

"He's gone." She huffs as she tries to catch her breath. "Ethan winters is gone."

"What do you mean he's gone?" Alcina's voice slithers from her throat in a low tone.

"The dungeon is empty. Only his dried blood remains, sprouted with mold."

Alcina freezes as she stares at Bela. Her expression is unreadable. But, her heart rapidly pounds from her chest, rising into her throat. She gulps, then speaks.

"Where is Y/N?" She asks, voice hushed as she tries to cover her fear.

"We were going to ask you the same thing." Cassandra hesitantly exclaims. "She's not with you?"

Alcina remains silent, slowly shaking her head in response. Daniela takes a step towards her mother. Her hand reaches into her pocket for something. Her fingers grasp it and pull it from the fabric. Lifting her hand, she glances at the object. She raises it out in front of her. The object dangles from her grip, held by a silver chain. Alcina clenches her jaw shut at the sight of your necklace in Daniela's hand.

"Where did you find that?" She questions, her voice quivering.

"It was in the dungeon. Lying atop spilled blood." Daniela explains quietly.

Alcina reaches out, removing the necklace from Daniela's hand. She rests the pendant on her palm, fingers curling around the chain. Dried blood crusts the beveled design. Alcina closes her fingers around it, gripping it tightly in her hands. Her tears fall from her now angry eyes. Her lips tremble as she purses them together. She swiftly turns from her daughters, yanking the castle doors open. She strides outside, rage and panic pulsing into every nerve. As the doors fly open to reveal the castle grounds, a part of Alcina hopes you'll be there; Walking up the steps to come home to her. But, you're not there.
