"Alcina!" You cry as you drop to the ground.

Your eyes are swelled with urgent tears as you look her over. Your gaze falls on the deep wound on her chest, barely missing her heart.

"Alcina..."

Alcina's hand gently grabs your chin, pulling your attention away from her spilling blood. Your eyes meet hers, tears flooding down your cheeks. Your eyes shine their normal blue, violet hue not apparent. Eva is at bay, silently watching within you.

"Look at me, draga mea." Alcina speaks softly, voice void of any panic. "Listen to my words. Can you do that for me?"

You slowly nod your head.

"Take the girls, get as far away from here as you can. Whatever you do, don't you dare ever come back. Miranda won't be down for very long. When she regains her strength, she will do whatever it takes to kill you. I've inflicted enough damage to give you some time, but not a lot. You need to hurry."

"I'm not leaving you here, Alcina." You whimper. "I can't..."

"You have to let me go, draga mea." Alcina utters, wiping tears from your skin as her own begin to form.

"No, Alcina!" You protest. "How can you expect me to do that!?"

As Alcina opens her mouth to speak, her words are replaced with a heavy scream. Her body stiffens for a moment, filling her with visible pain. The flesh around the wound in her chest begins to crack, seemingly crystalizing. Alcina's jaw clenches shut as her tears fall away from her eyes. Without hesitation, you place your hands over her open wound. Tingles erupt through your fingertips. Just as you close your eyes, you feel her large hand wrap around yours and move it away. Your eyes flick open, meeting Alcina's.

"No." She utters, voice once again soft. "I won't allow it."

"Don't be ridiculous." You protest, attempting to move your hand back to the open wound.

Alcina's grip tightens, holding your hands away. Her flesh continues to gradually crack and crystalize before your very eyes. Her gritted teeth create a barrier for the painful screams you can tell she's holding back.

"I said I won't allow it." Alcina utters again. "If there was ever a time to obey me, it would be now little one."

"Stop being so damn stubborn!" You snap at her.

Your chest is heavy, eyes overflowing with tears as you watch Alcina crumble before you. Alcina release her clenched jaw. Her smudged crimson lips curl into a heartbreaking smile. Her efforts to hold back her tears are pointless. Their salty streams cascade down her face, falling to the rubble below her. You study her expression, puzzled and afraid.

"I learned from the best." Alcina whispers with a gentle chuckle.

She takes a sharp inhale, laughter clearly causing her more pain than she was already in. Once she catches her breath, her attention returns to you. Her honey eyes seem to be loosing their sweetness, life inside them fading away by each passing moment, dripping like the blood seeping from her chest. With each shallow rise and fall of her chest, you can feel a sharp throbbing in yours. Seemingly a vibration of the pain coursing through her heart into yours.

Alcina releases your hand, lifting hers to your cheek. As her touch reaches your skin, her smile fades.

"Draga mea..." She sighs, releasing more tears. "My beautiful little bird."

"Alcina..." Alcina silences your words, placing her trembling thumb over your tear soaked lips.

"This is the end for me, my dear." Alcina begins. "A long awaited end at that. Immortality seems divine until one must face the reality of never resting, never finding peace from the chaos that is life. I've spent my years questioning what the purpose of my drawn out suffering really was."
