"Bela..." Daniela grasps the attention of her sister as she secures her sickle to her waist. "Do you think Y/N is alive?"
Bela glances at her sister. Daniela's worry is obvious, plastered across her face. Bela turns away, continuing to sharpen her blade.
"I don't know what to think." Bela sighs.
"She has to be alive." Cassandra quietly chimes in. "Do you realize how many near death experience that woman has had? Despite all of them, somehow she always survives."
"What if this is the one time she doesn't?" Daniela asks.
"Daniela, please. Enough." Bela pleads.
"Do you not have the slightest care for her!?" Daniela protests.
Bela tightens her grip on her sickle, frustration hitting her. She turns and steps towards her sister with swift force. Anger simmers in her golden eyes.
"I do care! More than you may realize!" Bela barks. "While you and Cassandra were off acting like irresponsible children, I was the one to help mother tend to her. When mother couldn't be there, it was me who sat by her side. I was the one who had to drain her blood. I was the one who watched her suffer and fight for a life she didn't understand. Do you really think I don't care!? Mother has been the happiest I have ever seen. All because of Y/N. We have been happy because of her. She's what this family needed. Hope. Hope that this life isn't wasted. Hope that there is still a part of us that can feel mortal joy instead of constant rage. Without her, it feels like everything has been lost."
Bela's eyes swell with tears as she stares at her sister.
"I didn't realize..." Daniela whispers.
"I refuse to believe that she's dead. Although she is human, she's stronger than any of us will ever be. Mother will find her. But right now, our job is to find the man who stole her."
"Bela's right." Cassandra joins her sisters. "We can't spend our time arguing or assuming the worst. We have to find Ethan Winters."
"But how?" Daniela asks. "He could be anywhere."
"Well, our tracking skills don't compare to our ability to hunt and kill our prey." Bela exclaims. "But, I know someone who can help."
"Who?" Cassandra asks.
Without a word, Bela turns and begins up the stairs of the dungeon. Cassandra and Daniela give each other a confused glance before chasing after their sister. They follow close by as they exit the dungeon. Bela pulls open the castle door. Standing at the top of the stairs, she looks up to the peeks of the castle. Her sisters watch, confused. Bela let's out a long whistle into the air. A moment later, a furry beast lunges its large body towards the sisters. Your lycan lands with a echoing thud.
"Devil dog?" Daniela questions.
"He's the best option we have." Bela exclaims. "Wherever Winters is, this mangy mutt can locate him. Isn't that right, flea bag?"
Your lycan lets out a rumbling growl. Although he despises the sisters, he's willing to help. Bela pulls a cloth from her pocket. It's cream fabric is stained with dry blood. She had used it to clean her sickle after she had plunged it through Ethan's ribcage. She holds it out in front of her, dangling it near the lycans nose. He sniffs the iron aroma, allowing his senses to gather a lingering trail off Ethan's scent. Once he's finished he bows his head, signaling that he is ready.
"Find him." Bela commands.
The lycan snarls, then pounces forward. His body quickly descends the stairs in long leaps. He bounds forward, following the trail Ethan Winters left behind. The sisters burst into their alternate form, buzzing in a furious swarm as they follow the lycan away from Castle Dimitrescu.
