Alcina burst through the doors of the castle. The wind of a winter storm raged outside, causing the doors to slam against the walls. Alcina did the best she could to keep you warm, but the only motion your body had was violent shivers from the freezing air. At least she knows your alive... For now.

"Mother!!!" Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela rush toward their mother, thankful to see she had arrived safely.

"Donna told us what happened! Is Y/N alright!?" Daniela asked worriedly.

"I-I don't know." Alcina's eyes fell to your face. Your lips are purple, skin as pale as the snow. "I tried to keep her warm. I tried. I..." Her words caught in her throat as she began to gently cry.

"Mother..." Bela softly rests her hand on Alcina's arm. "She's going to be okay. Let us take her to the dungeon like Donna told us to. Although I don't particularly care for the servant, I promise nothing bad will happen to her."

"You can't promise anything!" Alcina snapped at Bela. "I promised I would take care of her. I promised I would protect her. A promise means nothing if you can't follow through with it!"

Alcina could see the fear in her daughter's eyes. She shook her head, knowing her actions were uncalled for.

"I'm sorry, Bela. I shouldn't have raised my voice. You're only trying to help. I just... I can't lose her. Just like I can't lose you three." She glances at her daughters. "I could never forgive myself if anything happened to you, or her."

"Mother." Cassandra begins. "All three of us can tell how much Y/N means to you. You've never looked at anyone the way you look at her. You're right, we can't promise anything. But, we can try."

"We need to get her to the dungeon before Mother Miranda-" Daniela was abruptly cut off. The door swung open behind them, crows flew through the door like sharp beaked missiles.

"Too late, little one." Mother Miranda's voice echoed around them.

"Bela! Take Y/N to the dungeon! Now!" Alcina screamed above the ear shattering cawing of crows flying into the hall.

Bela nodded, grabbing your body from Alcina's arms.

"Don't let anything happen to her. Please." Alcina begged.

The three sisters rushed to get you away from the chaos. Daniela threw open the dungeon door, allowing Bela and Cassandra to haul your body down the stairs. Slamming the door behind her, she swiftly set the locks. Double checking that they were secure. Nobody was getting into this dungeon.

The cawing of the crows faded, as did their swarming bodies. They were replaced with a silhouette of a woman, draped in a black cloak covered in large black feathers. Mother Miranda has arrived.

"Alcina, you should know better than to run from me." She purred. Her voice full of warning.

"Mother Miranda." Alcina poised herself, masking any signs of the distress pulsing through her body. "What brings you to Castle Dimitrescu?"

"Don't play coy with me, child." She warns. "You know why I'm here."

"Tell me, Alcina, how does a nearly 6' scrawny girl lift an 8' body builder man into the air like he's nothing more than a measly little mouse who's been caught in the claws of a cat?"

"Mother Miranda, respectfully, I tried-" Alcina began, but her words were blocked by Mother Miranda's anger.

"You tried nothing!" She yelled. "You left the girl alone and she nearly ripped out Heisenberg's throat! His blood is on your hands, just as much as it is on hers!"

Alcina flinched at Mother Miranda's words. She knew she shouldn't have left you alone. If she hadn't, none of this would be happening. You would be alive and well, just as you had been before the meeting. Mother Miranda wouldn't be hunting you down, ready to gut you like a pig.

"Where is she, Alcina?" Mother Miranda asks firmly.

"She's with the girls. They are preparing to drain her blood." She lies.

"Perfect!" Mother Miranda smiles and claps her hands together. "Then you wouldn't mind if I join you, hmm?"

"Mother, I don't think-"

"You're right, Alcina! You don't think. If you did, you would have thought to tell me that your maiden was mutating beyond our beliefs!" Her voice was loud again.

"I didn't know!" Alcina yelled back.

"How could you not know? She's your personal maiden!"

Alcina couldn't hold back her frustration.

"I tried to tell you, damn it! But you cut me off, just like you always do! Instead of listening to what I had to say, you continued on a tangent about my incapability to be the child you want!"

"Oh, Alcina." Mother Miranda moved closer, lessening the space between her and Lady Dimitrescu. She softly touched her face, trailing Alcina's cheek with her fingertips. Then, she extended her talon like claws, slapping Alcina with an unpredictable motion. Alcina grabbed her face, feeling blood begin to prick to the surface. "The only child I want is Eva. You were merely a test subject to see if you were an acceptable host for her. But, she rejected you. And I can see why. However, you are still useful to me. So is your precious maiden."

"What do you mean?" Alcina asks, fearing the answer she might get.

"She shows great promise. If the child fails, she might be the perfect host for Eva."

"No. You can't."

"Don't tell me what I can and can't do! You have no power over me, Alcina. I own you." Mother Miranda's words send a chill down Alcina's spine.

"Keep the girl alive. I'll return when she wakes for a sample of her blood." Mother Miranda turns to leave. Before she exits the castle, he turns her head to Alcina. "Oh, and Alcina..."

"Yes, Mother?" Alcina mutters behind clenched teeth.

"Control your pet. If you don't, I'll have no choice but to put her down." With that, Mother Miranda vanished.

Alcina stood alone in the middle of the Great Hall. Wind whipped through the castle entrance. Her face dripped with blood and tears.

"I've failed you, Y/N. I'm so very sorry." She whispers to herself.
