"Remind me why we broke up again?" Mason mumbled, as he pulled Lacey closer to him, wrapping his arms around her waist and holding her tight, scared that this might be the last time he ever got to wake up to her. "Because there was never a right time I guess" Lacey whispered back, as Mason shook his head, nuzzling his head in Lacey's neck from behind. "There's never a right time for anything" Mason whispered, as Lacey sighed to herself, turning herself over in the bed to look at the brown eyed boy who she was smitten for. "But I know I'd do anything to be able to do this every morning" Mason whispered, as he pushed Lacey's hair behind her face, watching the blush creep on to her cheeks, and Lacey feel the butterflies erupt in her stomach. "Do you think it would be different?" Lacey whispered. "If you let me in, stop pushing me away, let me experience your lows and your highs, we both stop making excuses" Mason whispered. "I'd take a hundred arguments and fights, a million bad days, I'd do all of it for you Lace" Mason whispered, his lips dangerously close to Lacey's, watching her eyes dart from his own to his lips, smiling briefly, before they were interrupted by Leo crying down the hallway. Mason rolling onto his back sighing, as Lacey gave him a sheepish smile, before exiting the bed and going to her nephew.

"So what time are you heading to St George's?" Lacey whispered, as Mason smiled at her drinking his cup of tea, watching her engage with Leo at the dining table, or more like trying to get him to eat his breakfast instead of wearing it. "Erm, I think we have to be there for one ish" Mason smiled, as he continued to let the warm feeling of Lacey engaging with Leo fill his body. He wished he had the chance to experience the chance of being a dad with Lacey, he wanted nothing more than to think he was a dad, his own child wearing his name on the back of their football shirt, coming to his games and training sessions, getting to experience the family he wanted with her.

They always say that distance and time makes the heart grow fonder, that you've never experienced love fully until you can't have it anymore, that you never knew how much someone meant till they wasn't around, and Mason had experienced that twice, he knew Lacey was all he wanted now, he would give up everything in a heartbeat to be able to wake up next to her.

"What are you staring at?" Lacey mumbled, as she placed some toast that Leo clearly didn't want in front of him, Mason laughing whilst shaking his head. "You're perfect yano" Mason smiled, as Lacey shook her head, but the smile overtook her face. "Youre pretty perfect too yano" Lacey teased back, as Mason shook his head, placing the cup of tea on the table and using his arms to pull her closer into him. "I want you Lace, I've always wanted you" Mason whispered, as his breath and lips were close to her face, his eyes scanning her features, analysing the faint freckles that marked across her nose and cheeks, the way her eyes sparkled, with speckled of blue running through the green orbs. "Are we really going to try again?" Lacey whispered, as Mason smiled down at her, his hand tracing shapes on her hips, "they say that third time is a charm" Mason smirked, as Lacey rolled her eyes playfully. "Can we keep it on the quiet though?" Lacey whispered, as Masons face dropped slightly, his eyes still scanning her face for any reaction, the same as Lacey did to him. "I don't mean that in a bad way, I just want to ensure that we get the time we need before everyone elsewhere finds out" Lacey whispered, wanting somewhat of a normal part of her life, a relationship that was hers, a relationship that she could share when she wanted to, not something that was broadcasted daily. "I think that would be good for us, just us two, it'll be like before, sneaking around" Mason smirked, as Lacey rolled her eyes. "I just want our relationship to be our relationship, even if it's just for a little time" Lacey whispered, as Mason nodded his head, understanding where she was coming from.
"So am I going to St George's a taken man?" Mason smirked, as Lacey laughed nodding her head. "That means you're mine, not Declan's" Lacey teased, as Mason laughed, nodding his head. "I'm sure Declan will understand" Mason smiled. "But you promise to keep this just between us? Just for now?" Lacey whispered, as Mason nodded his head, finally placing his lips to Lacey's, something he had wanted to do all morning, smiling into this kiss and holding her close, finally feeling like the world was right again for both of them.
"I promise" Mason whispered.

But the truth was, Mason wasn't a hundred percent sure on how he was going to hide being in a relationship from his best friend for a couple of days when he would be sharing a room with him, but he knew it was something he needed to do. He wasn't one to keep secrets from his best friend, but sometimes you had to do what you had to do to ensure your happiness was held at the centre of things.
But he was happy that he finally had Lacey back in his arms, where she belonged and he knew he wasn't going to let anything take her away from him again.
