Lacey stood in the living room, placing the balloons around in the living room, organising the presents that had been brought, all whilst Mason slept soundly upstairs, the twins out like a light for the first time in days, it had been tiring, but Lacey wanted to make this the best birthday possible. "What are you doing?" Mason asked groggily from the bottom of the stairs, as his eyes scanned across the room, taking in the room. "You're supposed to be asleep, breakfast in bed isn't until another half an hour" Lacey mumbled, as Mason sighed to himself. "The bed was cold without you, and when you didn't come back I assumed you was up for the morning" Mason whispered, as he leant against the door frame.
It had been over a week since the incident at the park, the one where Lacey flinched and Mason instantly hated himself, and the drive back with Jack did not help how he felt at all.
"You can't help how she feels" Jack mumbled, as Mason sighed nodding his head. "She knows I'm not like that though Jack that's the thing" Mason mumbled back, as Jack nodded his head. "I didn't think Levi was like that, but we're here ain't we" Jack muttered, as he pulled onto the driveway of the Mount home. "She's fragile and she loves you with every inch of her body, don't ever doubt her just because she's struggling right now" Jack whispered, as Mason nodded his head.
"You could of still slept" Lacey whispered, as she walked over and leant on the back of the sofa. Mason hadn't been over affectionate over the last week or so, but neither had Lacey, scared that she had scared him, Mason just didn't want to scare her further. "You know I still love you don't you?" Lacey whispered, as Mason sighed, nodding his head, walking over to the girl and wrapping his arms around her. "I know baby, I still love you too" Mason whispered as he placed a kiss to the top of her head. "And if you want to get married in July we can" Lacey smiled up at him, as he shook his head. "When you're ready, that's when we will be ready" Mason whispered, as Lacey nodded her head. "I love you Lacey Louise Mount" Mason smiled, as Lacey raised an eyebrow at him. "From now on I'm calling you a Mount, you're never getting rid of me, not now, not ever" Mason whispered. "I wouldn't dream of it" Lacey whispered, as she pressed her lips to Masons, holding him close, just for a while, just until the twins would wake up and their day would be chaotic again.
