"I'll go" Jack stated, as he stood up from the table. "No I want to" Mason whispered. "No, I'll go, I'll come and get you" Jack smiled briefly at Mason, who hesitantly nodded his head, as Declan put his hand on Masons arm, the first friendly action the two had, had since the news broke between them, half the table still not knowing that Mason had cheated on her, Jack being one of them. "Let him go, he knows what his doing" Declan whispered, as he placed his hand on Masons shoulder in a comforting way. "I know, I just feel like it should be me" Mason whispered, as he sat back down, taking a sip of his drink, his eyes gazing to the door, as everyone resumed their conversations."Lacey Lou" Jack smiled, as he sat down on the bench outside the restaurant, Lacey staring intently at the people walking down the street. "Reckon his late for work?" Jack chuckled, as they sat and watched the man hurry down the street with a briefcase, his coat wrapping around him in different directions and he sped up. "Maybe his late home, maybe it's someone's birthday, but their on a first date" Lacey smiled, as she looked at the two teenagers who were walking awkwardly next to each other, the males hand reaching for the females before he stopped, letting her connect their hands as they smiled at each other warmly. "What about them?" Jack smiled, as he looked over the road and saw an older couple sat on the bench opposite them, talking and smiling between them as the male hugged the female, excitement written all over his face. "Maybe she just gave him some good news" Lacey whispered, as Jack nodded his head. "Maybe their expecting a child" Jack whispered back, as Lacey turned to look at her cousin, who was more like a best friend lately. "What makes you say that?" Lacey whispered, as she turned her head to look back at the couple. "He looks really happy, and really chuffed with himself, but she looks happy, but you can see in her body language that she's uncertain about it all, that she wants to be happy, but theirs clearly other things on her mind, maybe thinking about how many times she's going to have to clean shit up" Jack laughed, as Lacey rolled her eyes, a smile on her face, as she playfully pushed his shoulder. "But that's you isn't it, you're worried about everything whilst Mase is stoked about it all" Jack whispered, turning to face his cousin. "I guess yeah" Lacey whispered. "I just keep thinking about how I'm going to do it" Lacey whispered, as Jack shook his head. "Were all here to help you Lace, you'll never be alone, and god Mase is so excited for this baby" Jack smiled, thinking about being able to buy the baby a football kit, he was sure that the child would have a variety of kits to wear. "It's a little different" Lacey whispered, as Jack looked at her, taking in her expression, and it was clear as day she was stressed, that she was panicking, that she was worried. "Talk to me Lace" Jack whispered. "What if he decides he doesn't want me?" Lacey whispered, as she fiddled with her hands in her lap, trying to advert her gaze anywhere but Jack. "He would be an idiot to leave you and the baby" Jack mumbled. "I'd still break his legs" Jack chuckled, as Lacey shook her head. "Jack?" Lacey whispered, as she finally turned to look at him. "Mmm" he hummed, as his eyes set on her. "If I tell you something, you've got to keep it quiet" Lacey whispered, as Jack nodded his head, holding his hand to his chest.
And anyone would think that this is the part where Lacey finally tells Jack the truth about what's happened in the last week, and maybe part of Lacey wanted to, but she didn't want to disrupt the lovey dinner they were all having, she wanted to keep the happy atmosphere, and the family vibe.
"We're having twins" Lacey whispered, feeling like a weight was lifted from her shoulders. "That means double the nappies, double the feeds, god it's even double the socks" Lacey muttered, as she ran a hand through her hair, trying to see the funnier side of it all, but the truth was she was more stressed than ever. "And you'll still be the best Mum" Jack stated, as he wrapped an arm around her. "You'll never be alone in this Lace, I promise you" Jack whispered as he kissed the top of her head. "Now, shall we go and show your boyfriend that you're fine" Jack smiled, as Lacey nodded her head, looking up and seeing Mason at the door, smiling at her, and Lacey felt all of the stress and the worry leave her body, almost like he really could take away the pain, and for the first time that week Lacey felt like nothing would ever break her, like nothing would ever break them, that this was it for her, and she was fine with that.
"You okay babe?" Mason whispered, as he wrapped his arms around her body, pulling her into him, making her smile as she was met with his chest. "I'm okay" Lacey smiled into his chest. "Well, I won the bet" Mason laughed, as Lacey pulled her head of of Masons chest, looking up at him with an eyebrow raised. "Oh me, Dec and Chilly bet who would go upstairs with the other first" Mason laughed, as Lacey still had her eyebrow raised at her boyfriend, needing more information to understand the situation. "Dec bet that Mia and Phil would go upstairs first, Chilly bet that it would be Amber and Mings, but they all went up together" Mason laughed, as Lacey shook her head at the thought of her friends getting into bed with the footballers.
"Have I told you that I love you lately?" Mason whispered, as she walked with Mason, hand in hand to the table. "I don't think so" Lacey giggled, as Mason kissed the top of her head. "I love you lots" Mason whispered.
