"So, love life" Jack stated, Lacey closing the pizza box and looking over at her cousin, but he was someone she considered more like close family, maybe even a brother. He had always been there when she needed someone, even if that was just a getaway for a week, he had always been there. "What about it?" Lacey laughed, as Jack shook his head smiling. "Well, we all thought you'd be back with Mase by now, and that's not the case so, surely there's someone else filling your needs" Jack smirked, as Lacey rolled her eyes. "I'm happy how I am at the moment thank you very much" Lacey giggled, still wanting her and Mason to be a secret for the time being, but Jack shook his head laughing at her. "If that's what you say" Jack mumbled, still smiling and eating pizza. "But I'm not setting you up with Mingsy, that just doesn't feel right even if he is a top bloke" Jack stated, his tone of voice going serious again. "Jack, not all of your friends are going to be like Levi" Lacey whispered, speaking his name for the first time in months, as Jack rolled his eyes at her, but nodded his head. "I know, I know, but I just can't help but feel partially responsible for it all" Jack mumbled. "Jack" Lacey sighed, running a hand through her hair. "You can't blame yourself for it, none of us can, if anyone's at fault it's me for not speaking up sooner, and you will argue until your black and blue in the face that I can't pull that card, so I'm not allowing you to pull that card on me now" lacey muttered, as Jack sighed but nodded his head.
That's the thing, Jack had introduced Lacey to Levi years ago, through one of his birthday parties, Lacey and Levi clicked instantly, and hit it off and the rest was history, it may have turned sour with mental and emotional abuse on Levi's part, but Jack was oblivious about it all until Lacey had come clean to Sasha that day in London, and finally got herself away from it all, but Jack still felt like it was his fault, and he didn't think anyone would be able to change his mind on that. "I just want you to be happy Lace, like, I look at you and I see my sisters, and I think about how close we are now, and one day I wanna be watching you walk down the isle like" Jack smiled, as Lacey nodded her head smiling. "One day I'll be watching you at the end of an isle" Lacey giggled, as Jack shook his head. "Not yet though" Jack laughed. "But, I guess, as much as I thought you and Mase would end up back together, I'm glad you didn't to some extent" Jack smiled, as Lacey felt a ting of guilt flood her body. "What do you mean?" Lacey chuckled, trying to lighten the mood, as Jack shook his head. "You was cute together and it was obvious you both cared, but I couldn't help but feel like all he ever did was hurt you, and vice versus, ya get me?" Jack stated, as Lacey nodded her head, he was right, all they ever did was hurt each other, but somehow this time felt different. "I get you, but the heart wants what it wants" Lacey laughed, quoting Mason from earlier, as Jack looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "It's all history now anyway, isn't it" Lacey smiled, trying to cover her tracks, as Jack nodded his head. "Yeah, you're right, no point in dwelling on the past" Jack smiled. "Anyway, it's nearly 3am, I need to go home" Lacey laughed, as Jack shook his head. "I didn't realise the time if I'm honest, I guess movies and pizza as well as a catch up takes the time away" Jack smiled, as Lacey nodded her head. "I've always got time for you Jack, it always nice to just be us two" Lacey smiled, as Jack nodded his head. "Family always comes first" Jack smiled, as Lacey nodded her head, agreeing with him. "But you can stay in the guest room, you're not driving back at this time of night, don't know who will try and mug ya" Jack chuckled, as Lacey shook her head. "I don't think anyone would mug me" Lacey mumbled, as Jack shook his head. "Don't care, ya staying up stairs" Jack smiled, as Lacey nodded her head, knowing better than to argue with him.
As Lacey got herself comfortable in the guest bedroom, slipping some of Sasha's clothes on, and getting under the duvet, she finally checked her phone for the first time since arriving at Jacks, seeing a couple of Instagram notifications, as well as texts from Mason and Lauren.
Masey; Come back, I miss you x
Masey; Lace? You okay? x
Masey; I hate that you're ignoring me right now.
Masey; Lacey? Are you okay?
Masey; I'm hoping you just fell asleep, I'll ring you in the morning x
Laces; I'm fine, I'm at Jacks ended up having a catch up and the time flew away, I'll speak to you tomorrow, night b x
Lozza❤️; Mase is worried you're not answering, I said you'd probably be asleep, but give me a text when you're awake so I know you're okay babe ❤️
Laces💙; I'm okay, I ended up coming to Jacks for pizza and a catch up, I miss you, I hope you're having fun, love you 💙
As Lacey's eyes scanned her Instagram, she couldn't help but laugh at Tyrones comment, and then giggle harder at Jacks comment back to him, the rest of the comments sparking rumours that her and Tyrone were now a thing, and this is the reasoning why Lacey left her comments off most of the time, hating reading through them, but never having the backbone to respond to it all. But then Lacey's mind drifted to Mason, and she wondered if he had seen the comments, and wondered harder if he had jumped to the same conclusion other people had jumped to, and that's when Lacey realised, this was never going to be a simple walk in the parks
