Katherine walked through the door to her and Sarah's apartment, fully expecting it to be empty.

She was pleasantly surprised when she saw Sarah dancing around the kitchen in her favourite fluffy socks.

She had headphones on and made no sign to acknowledge Katherine coming into the apartment.

A small smile made its way onto her face as she watched her girlfriend.

She made her way over to Sarah and wrapped her arms around her waist and placed her head on Sarah's shoulder.

Sarah let out a squeal as she turned around to face Katherine.

"Hi beautiful," Katherine said once Sarah found her footing.

Sarah blushed and tried to hide her face in Katherine's shoulder.

"Hi," Sarah replied quietly.

Katherine lifted Sarah's head up from her shoulder and cupped her face.

She kissed her girlfriend softly on the lips.

When they pulled away, Sarah was a brighter red than Katherine's hair.

"You're blushing a lot," Katherine pointed out.

"You caught me off guard. Give me a minute and I'll be less blushy." Sarah moved away from Katherine and made her way to the sofa.

She plopped down and buried her head in one of the pillows.

After a few minutes she walked back over to Katherine and pulled her into a hug.

This time without blushing the colour of a tomato.

"Why are you at home?" she asked. "I thought you had work."

"I did but we closed early today," she explained. "I made some cookies."

A grin broke out across Katherine's face. "Yes. I love your cookies," she exclaimed.

Sarah picked a cookie from the plate and held it out for Katherine. When she reached for it it was pulled back and a Sarah let her mischievous grin show.

"I'm happy you love my cookies but I hope there's something else you love," she joked.

Katherine grabbed the cookie from her and shoved it in her mouth. She swallowed it quickly, and what also looked quite painfully to Sarah.

"I love you as well as your cookies," she said, kissing Sarah at the end to make her point clear.

Sarah smiled and wrapped her arms around Katherine's waist.

"I'm glad because I love you too," she whispered.

The couple stood there in an embrace, neither wanting to break it.

It was eventually broken by Katherine who wanted more cookies.

"Don't leave me, love," Sarah whined. "You're so warm."

Katherine wrapped and arm around Sarah's waist.

She kissed her gently on the temple. "If you want me to keep you warm meet me in the bedroom in five minutes," she whispered.

Sarah blushed, despite her attempts not to, and nodded quickly.

"Okay, good," Katherine mumbled to herself. "I need to do stuff. I have stuff to do. Gotta do that stuff."

Sarah smiled at her girlfriend talking to herself.

She thought it was adorable how she did that when she was working on something.

"I'll sit here," she told Katherine. "You do whatever you need to do and I'll be there in five minutes. I'll set a timer."

Katherine nodded and moved quickly to do everything she needed to do and get everything she needed to get.

The five minutes ended very quickly for Katherine since she spent them busily trying to organise things.

For Sarah, on the other hand, the five minutes dragged by. Mostly because she spent them sitting still and staring aimlessly at a wall.

She made her way to the room as soon as the timer went off and was greeted by an adorable sight.

Katherine was standing beside the bed with one of her hoodies in her arms, her favourite hoodie that she would always give Sarah for when they were cuddling.

There was a pile of blankets laid out on the bed. The fluffiest blankets they owned sitting on the top.

Granted, all the blankets they owned were very fluffy but they had a few that were ridiculously fluffy.

"Oh my God," Sarah exclaimed. "You are literally the best girlfriend ever."

Katherine smiled and held her arms out. "Come here," she told Sarah who gladly crossed the room into her girlfriend's arms.

"Can we cuddle?" Sarah asked from where she was nuzzled into Katherine's side.

"That's why I got all the blankets," she explained. "So, yes."

Sarah flopped down onto the bed, pulling Katherine down with her.

The couple lay facing each other, small smiles gracing both of their lips.

Sarah wrapped one of her arms around Katherine's waist while the other played with her hair.

Katherine head was laying on Sarah's chest, listening to her heartbeat. Her hands were occupied in playing with the hand Sarah had wrapped around her waist.

Their legs were entangled beneath the mass of blankets on top of them.

They both drifted asleep not long after they climbed into bed after exchanging their fair share of kisses and expressions of love.
