Chapter 48 - Specs x Romeo

"Hey Romeo," Specs called out through their apartment. When he didn't get a reply who grew very confused. "Are you here?"

He walked quickly to their bedroom, in case Romeo had headphones in and hadn't heard him.

Even after knocking lightly on the door before he went in there was still no response.

Slowly, he walked into the room.

He smiled when he realised why Romeo hadn't been answering him.

Romeo was curled up in a ball under the covers with one of Specs hoodies wrapped tightly in his arms.

Specs made his way over to their bed, being careful not to walk too loudly and wake up his sleeping boyfriend.

Once he reached the bed, he carefully took the hoodie out of Romeo's surprisingly tight grip.

"No," Romeo mumbled in his sleep. "That's my Specs. You can't take him from me."

Specs brought one hand to Romeo's arm and brushed his hair from his forehead with the other. "I'm right here darling. Don't worry, I'm here."

Romeo cuddled into the feeling of Specs' physical contact.

He mumbled to himself happily, Specs wished he could understand the boy he loved but it was barely audible, let alone understandable.

"Yeah, I'm right here. You relax and go back asleep."

Specs moved awkwardly to lie down beside Romeo, trying not to move the boy too much.

Once he was in a comfortable position he moved his hand from Romeo's arm to his waist.

He gently pressed a kiss to the sleeping boy's forehead before turning off the light and trying to fall asleep too.

Specs could not fall asleep. He had far too much energy in his body.

After what felt like hours, if not years of waiting he switched on his bedside lamp and grabbed a book.

He could do some work or something productive but he just wasn't bothered.

And his book was getting to the good bit, he couldn't not find out what happened.

He played with Romeo's hair as he read, finding comfort it his boyfriend's soft hair between his fingers.

Eventually he finished the book and found himself growing tired.

Turning off the light and pressing one final kiss to Romeo's forehead, Specs joined Romeo in sleep.

Romeo was the first to wake up that evening.

He had a vague memory of Specs coming into the room but he wasn't sure if he'd imagined it or not.

He wasn't entirely sure how he'd ended up asleep either.

He'd gotten home early from work and decided to do some housework.

Somehow, he went from folding clothes to being asleep with his boyfriend.

He didn't mind though.

Specs was very comfy to cuddle.

Romeo noticed the bedside lamp on on Specs' side of the bed but didn't pay much heed to it.

He tried to worm himself out of Specs' grip but when the boy started to wake he stopped quickly.

Sliding down slightly, he cursed when he was poked in the side.

While scrambling to try get off of Specs' glasses, Romeo accidentally woke up his boyfriend.

"What's going on?" Specs asked confusedly.

"Nothing's happening. I may have just rolled over your glasses," Romeo explained.

"Oh, okay." Specs closed his eyes and cuddled back down into Romeo's side.

Romeo lifted the glasses up and sighed in relief when they were still in one piece with the lenses still intact.

"They're not broken," Romeo told his as good as asleep boyfriend. "I'll put them over on your bedside table."

Specs hummed. "Okay. Just cuddle me again please."

Romeo laughed and kissed his boyfriend's temple as he reached across to place the glasses on Specs' bedside table.

As he was moving back from almost lying on top of Specs he was grabbed around the waist. "I have trapped you and I say you must give me cuddles or else you'll be trapped forever."

"I think I'll stay trapped forever if it means I'll be with you," Romeo said, completing his sentience by kissing Specs' nose.

"Just cuddle me," Specs pleaded. "Please."

"Alright." Romeo pulled the taller boy into his chest.

After having one final kiss from his boyfriend, Specs fell back asleep, still mumbling to himself even in sleep.

Romeo kissed Specs one final time on the back of the neck before he too fell asleep.
