"From then on, however, I came to hold, almost as a philosophical conviction, the belief: What is society but an individual?"
—————————————————————————The sunrise marks the journey of the sun in the sky. At first, there appears a small ball of light. It then goes on increasing in size and brightness.
The golden disc seems to be rising and rising higher and higher as it goes. Birds sing to its shine. It is the time when the day casts away the cloak of night. As the sun gets higher in the sky, the day's activity begins. Plants and trees feast on the rays of the sun. Late risers miss the beauty of sunrise. It is a rare joy to be awaken at sunrise.
Sunrises were always pretty in (Y/N)'s options. In fact, sunsets were the exact same thing but in reverse. But no matter how many times she stares at the glass pane and looking at the colored sky, it always brought a sense of comfort in her.
"This is hopeless."
Ah yes. The first words of the day. She snickered lightly which earned her a small glare from the male sitting in a chair on the opposite side of the room from where she was.
"Our weapon smugglers are two weeks behind schedule. At this point, our men are going to be fighting with kitchen knives at this rate." A sigh echoed throughout the room. "And that's not all, with the escalating violence, we're losing contracts for our protection business."
Mori whined loudly. "Maybe we just aren't cut out for this." He swiveled around in his chair to face the female. "What do you think, (L/N)-Kun."
The sound of plastic hitting against glass made its way to Mori's ears as his eyes narrowed. The girl didn't pay mind to his expression. "Oh come on, Mori. Not having intel, money, or even the trust of your subordinates...I'm sure you knew that from the beginning, didn't you?"
Mori pouted. "Your so mean." His eyes lingered back on the glass container in her hands. "Say, why are you mixing...hypertension medication with hypotension medication?"
(Y/N) didn't look up. Her focus was glued on the glass container as she mixed it with a plastic stick. "Hm, I thought taking them together might be a more comfortable way to die."
Mori hummed and looked away. "(L/N). You were there when I inherited the boss's seat." He glanced back at the female and saw her lifting the glass container to her lips. "You're a witness for his will."
This made the girl come to a halt. The glass barley touching the skin of her lips as she side-eyed Mori. Of course she was a witness. She was the only one who was cursed upon seeing the murder live in the flesh with her own two eyes.
